News: BROKEN CROSS: Decibel Magazine Premieres Title Track To Militant Misanthrope LP By Swedish Metal/Hardcore Act

As metal/hardcore act BROKEN CROSS prepares for the release of its second album, Militant Misanthrope, the LP's title track has been revealed through a premiere at Decibel Magazine.

 

The act's founder Niklas Holm issues, "When I released the first BROKEN CROSS album, Through Light To Night, in 2015, I was really into photomontage art and artist John Heartfield in particular. After years of admiring his art on Discharge and G.I.S.M. album covers, I decided to name the album after one of John's pieces. I thought it was a clever take on history, art, and the state of the modern world. Of course, no one got the reference. This time I wanted a simple title that says it all. Militant Misanthrope is a pretty straightforward punk rock song, with '80s hard rock/heavy metal influences, and some howling wolf sounds thrown in for good measure. It's also the title of the new album. Hopefully it will appeal to the freaks and outcasts of the world. If not, at least the message should be clear."

 

Decibel Magazine declares with their premiere of the new song, "Super moshable hardcore punk with a healthy dose of thrash metal is what you'll get on Militant Misanthrope, which makes sense since Toxic Holocaust's Joel Grind mastered the record. New song 'Militant Misanthrope' is essentially a masterclass on what BROKEN CROSS do best."

Recorded at Studio Underjord in Norrköping, Sweden (Vanhelgd, Year Of The Goat, Griftegård), and mastered by Joel Grind (Toxic Holocaust), the sound tone and quality of BROKEN CROSS' Militant Misanthrope yields a heavily enriched sound which bears a vast difference to the earlier lo-fi recordings, with blazing elements of thrash metal heritage seeping its way into the boldly-produced album's nine new anthems. The record is completed with drawings inspired by the 1980s/90s anime style and werewolf folklore, created by Dwid Hellion (Integrity).

 

Militant Misanthrope will see release on February 2nd, on LP through the band's own Apocalyptic Visions label, on cassette via Judas Chair Collective, and on CD through Psychic Rebellion.
