Interviews: TRYGLAV
In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Black Metal band TRYGLAV from Croatia. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just
like that?
The band name came out one day when I tried to find an appropriate name for my ex
band and
then Tryglav came out.
Tryglav was a god in Slavic mythology that represents the sky,
the earth and the afterlife.
To be honest the correct name is Triglav but I thought that
Tryglav with the "Y" was much cooler.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
I always wanted to play black metal following my thoughts.
This was impossible with my past bands because they didn't have the same passion
and
devotion in music.
Trying to do all alone was just a consequence of it.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
This time I didn't want to play with anyone.
I play guitar, drums, bass and I've been
a singer in the past so..i decided to do all alone.
4. Each band member favorite band?
Personally, there are too many bands that I love and respect but if I have to
choose
just one band, I could say Marduk.
They brought me into black metal.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
My biggest inspiration to write songs are 80 'horror movies, horror imaginary
and nature.
I was always horror fanatic since he was a little kid and growing up
my passion has grown with me.
6. Where was your last gig?
The last gig I did was probably in 2014 and it was with my old shitty band.
I remember that the show sucked.
I was beyond the drums at the time and I remember that
I couldn't hear anything and I just play drums trying to go on tempo.
The singer didn't remember the lyrics of some songs so he starts to sang
something completely without sense.
I was so pissed off and I left the band the same night.
Never wanted a band anymore since that day.
7. Where would you like to act?
Everywhere!
My goal with this band is to play live as soon as I can and in every place
where we'll get requests.
I'm currently working on that and expect more live shows from "us" in the
future.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
It would be an honor to have a collaboration with Erik from Watain.
Not only he's a genius, but his live shows with Watain are just amazing.
When you see them play live with all these scenography, it's hard to come back on
normal shows.
9. Whom not?
Probably with any death-core band of this planet.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how
to beat that?
I suffered stage fright and I suffer it even today if I have to play drums.
No problem if I have to sing,
but play drums or guitar on stage makes me anxious.
Fortunately, I will sing for live shows so I guess that I will not have problems.
If I have to give a tip for beginners I would say..play and try to have much
confidence as you can
with your instrument.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
There's a lot of bands who have inspired me and not only in black metal scene,i
also love 80' metal a lot
so I guess that black metal and 80' metal has inspired me in an equal way.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Well, I guess that signing an ass was the weirdest thing I've done for now.
13. What do you think of your fans?
I think that they are the best.
Not only I found huge support in people who bought my album but
they also share all band's stuff.. helping the band with the promotion etc..i'm
very grateful to them.
I didn't know what I had to expect when I signed a record deal but this exceeds
all my expectations.
14. What do you think of our site?
It's an awesome web-zine.
The site is massive supporters of new music and that's great because there's so
many other webzines,
but usually, they talk always of the same notorious names.
Love this site!
15. Something add?
I would like to thank you for the interview, and I want to say to your
readers..go and listen to Tryglav's debut
album..if you love black metal and horror, it's an album for you.
You'll not be a disappointment!
