Interviews: Necralant

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Black Metal band, Necralant from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their INSTAGRAM PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The name Necralant is derived from the prefix “necro”, which means death. I was brainstorming some words with some variation of necro that sounded like an adjective. Necralant is technically not a real word.

2.Why did you want to play this genre? 

I mainly play this genre because it's the type of music I love and am passionate about creating, and I feel that black metal is a very powerful medium for the types of messages and energies that we are looking to bring forth.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, I met Mictain at one of his other band’s shows.

4. Each band member favourite band?

My favorite band is Watain and Mictain’s is Belphegor.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

For the music, I mainly get inspired by listening to different bands and new sounds to work with. I also get inspired by researching and reading about different ideas and concepts, mainly about the Left-Hand Path and occult practices.

6. Where was your last gig?

We actually haven't played live yet, because we are a two-piece band in the studio, so we need to get a live lineup together to perform. There also aren't many opportunities to play live right now because of the pandemic.

7. Where would you like to act?

If you mean play live, I would love to play at a festival such as Wacken or Hellfest or any place that has a great metal scene.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I would like to play with a band that | look up to or a band that has the same approach to music and performance as we do. 9. Whom not? We have no interest in playing shows with bands that are in it for the wrong reasons -“posers”.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

No.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

The main musical inspiration for Necralant are the classic Scandinavian black metal and American death metal bands.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I don’t have any interesting stories - yet.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We appreciate all the support from anyone who listens to our music and is affected by it.

14. What do you think of our site?

Your site is very cool. We appreciate everything you do for underground bands.

I grew up always wanting to be a musician, I’m 16 years old at this time, and thanks to sites like this, my music has been shared all over the world and played on radio stations alongside some of my musical heroes growing up. | would like to give a huge thank you to the entire metal community for making this possible.
