Interviews: Gorethrone
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Deathcore/Black Metal band, Gorethrone from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
We wanted something that would give you a visual in your head when you heard the name. Gorethrone kind gives you the thought of twisted bodies with 1 victor of the throne.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
We are all fans of both deathcore and black metal, so why not?
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
I knew the drummer from another project we did together, but the rest I found on Craigslist.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
Mine would probably be Veil of Maya, the Rhythm Guitarist would be Carnifex, Drummers is Belphegore, and the Vocalists is Chelsea Grin
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
I get inspired to write songs when I listen to a lot of djent like Periphery, After the Burial, and Veil of Maya.
6. Where was your last gig?
The last gig we played was a house show in northern Michigan. It was around a 3 hour drive up there, but it was definitely worth it!
7. Where would you like to perform?
We would like to perform more in our home city of Grand Rapids. There haven't been many opportunities since the pandemic, but soon enough there will be again!
8. Whom would you like to perform with?
It would be Wholeheart, a local Grand Rapids band. They have really good live shows and we want to get in one some of that action. If we had to choose a big band,
maybe one of our favorite bands (Veil of Maya, Carnifex, Belphegor, or Chelsea Grin).
9. Whom not?
It's hard to say you WOULDN'T want to play with a band. I guess just if they're a totally different genre, the fans won't be there for the same thing and it would be weird.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?
Our vocalist but that was because the first time we performed it was his first show ever on stage. He said the best thing he found was to just let go of control, and do what you've practiced
time and time again. Let the insanity take over and thrive in the Chaos.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
The bands that inspire us the most would probably be the more deathcore ones like Chelsea Grin, Whitechapel and Carnifex
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
We haven't got any weird things yet just old people commenting on our stuff about how screaming isn't music XD
13. What do you think of your fans?
We love our fans and have some stuff in store for them in the not too distant future
14. What do you think of our site?
I like all the genres on the site and it's really easy to find the type of bands you want to hear about.
15. Something to add?
Keep an eye on our facebook/ig/snapchats/streaming platforms. We got some good content weekly with some serious stuff in store not too long from now.
