Interviews: Ground Force

We have had the opportunity to interview the Power Metal band Ground Force from Bangladesh. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Besides the songs, genre or a different sound, the name Ground-Force for us represents the point of Last Stand in terms of changing things around for better world and a brighter future. Since the music scene in our country is clustered to cater a specific group of listeners, we wanted to break that barrier and go global to bring our music to the rest of the world which is equivalent to a war for us. Hence Ground Force was a perfect name for us.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

The musicians in Ground Force individually have been influenced, experienced in playing songs made in different genres over 2 decades which covers from 80’s Rock to 90’s Thrash and Power Metal towards Symphonic and progressive metal. Since we thought of the debut album to be a concept album, we thought this is the right genre to express in terms of songwriting and establishing the concept story of the album.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yeah, we all have been playing in different bands and knew each other for years. 

4. Each band member favourite band?

Our common favorite bands are Symphony X, Kamelot, Firewind, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Rush, Pink Floyd, Manowar, Judas Priest, Overkill, Van Halen, Dio, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Queensryche, Pantera, Angra, Myrath, and so on ( there are so many)

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

If we consider the album “Tree Of Life” it has to be Jules Vern, The History and researches of Annunaki, Common religious perceptions and Science.

6. Where was your last gig?

We have been sitting duck in this pandemic.

7. Where would you like to act?

We dream someday to play in Coachella, Fort Rock, Download Festival, Desert Fest, Wacken Open Air, Hellfest, Bloodstock, Nova Rock, Grasspop Metal Meeting! 

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Symphony X, Kamelot, Firewind, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath.

9. Whom not?

Anyone who’s not “Metal” enough!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Well, that era was over for many of us literally 20 years back hahaha, but for beginners, we want to say keep practicing in front of the mirror and your friends, be confident in playing, and (from Turjo) if it still bothers you while on stage try not to look into anyone’s eyes directly from the stage.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Queensryche, Angra, Avantasia, Circus Maximus, Dio, Judas Priest, Transatlantic, Dream Theater, Symphony X, Kamelot.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They make us who we are and we believe in fans rather than random listeners. 

14. What do you think of our site?

Amazing !! Probably the best we’ve ever been affiliated with! We’ve noticed how you guys thoroughly review each and every detail of songs and albums meaningfully.

15. Something to add?

It has been a big challenge for us to cross the boundaries of our nation to release Tree Of Life globally where no one has stepped before. Thanks to everyone who believed in us and helped Ground-Force spread across the globe.
