Interviews: Dark Rain
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock/Metal band, Dark Rain from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
Bill: dark rain was already named when I joined the band.
Kelleigh: I can't remember...
Brian: I was on a musical hiatus when the band got its name.
Dudley: It’s the name of a song written for our first cd, Dark Rain is meant to mean nuclear
fallout
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
Bill: love most all music.
Kaleigh: it wasn't planned...a spur-of-the-moment "audition "
Brian: One of my favorite genres. Great music and fun to play.
Dudley: I don’t think we fit nice and tight into a specific genre.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Bill: YES.
Kelleigh: I did not... My ex introduced me to them
Brian: Dudley, Kelleigh, and I played together in a former version of this band before it was known as Dark Rain. Bill, I have known you since high school
Dudley: I grew up in the same neighborhood as Bill
4. Each band member's favorite band?
Bill: Metallica
Kelleigh: Breaking benjamin,shinedown,godsmack,dorothy,zz ward,fozzy
apparently I have a few favorites
Brian: I have several... Iron Maiden, Metallica, Savatage, Testament, Death Angel, Anthrax just to name a few.
Dudley: Ozzy
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Bill: the love of music and jamming
Kelleigh: life events
Brian: I get inspiration from hearing and watching other musicians play. Everyone has a different style of playing and sometimes you come across that sound
that just sticks in your head and says here are the possibilities. Then it is like putting together a puzzle. The pieces are there just waiting to be put in the right
place.
Dudley: Usually life events, a lot of this last cd was written about two very different people in my life, our newest song we are writing is something I wrote
from the heart about someone I care about deeply who was hurt by someone else, when you have love or anger for a person or situation the words just flow.
6. Where was your last gig?
Bill: MADISON, MAINE
7. Where would you like to perform?
Bill: a huge venue. Lol
Kelleigh: anywhere... Just wanna do my thing
Brian: Madison Square Garden would be an awesome place to play
Dudley: Wembley or Rock in Rio
8. Whom would you like to perform with?
Bill: Metallica
Kelleigh: all the favorites I listed above
Brian: Metallica, Ozzy, Iron Maiden, Zak Wylde
Dudley: Ozzy, GNR, Metallica, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, Halestorm, Pat Benetar
9. Whom not?
Bill: Phil collins. Lol.
Kelleigh: artists/bands with shit attitudes... Don't want my name associated with classless people
Brian: I don't know if there is anyone I wouldn't want to perform with
Dudley: a certain ex-drummer who lost my trust and
respect
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Bill: Never! Advice for stage fright, sing at a bunch of different karaoke bars where nobody knows you. Lol
Kelleigh: I used to "hide" behind my mic stand... Karaoke helped with new faces in a crowd... I also sing a lot with my eyes closed...lol
Brian: I've been performing in front of crowds most of my life, so it doesn't really bother me that much. When it does, I just think of it as having a practice jam
session with a few of my friends. Then I can get in the right state of mind and give you a performance to remember
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Bill: bad company, Metallica, eagles
Kelleigh: local bands..their struggle is the same...
Brian: Iron Maiden, Savatage, Slayer, Testament, Overkill, Breaking Benjamin

Dudley: I plead the fifth
13. What do you think of your fans?
Bill: they're awesome!!
Kelleigh: most kick-ass!! Super supportive...

now.
