Interviews About Albums: RAPSOdiSMURINA - If (2023)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Italian Rock band RAPSOdiSMURINA to ask some questions about their new album "If". 

1. What can you say about this new CD?

The album was totally recorded, mixed and mastered in ITALY after 3 years of accurate preparation. This is the third album of RAPSOdiSMURINA, the alternative rock band from the centre region of Italy. This is available on CD but also as a double vinyl.

2. What is the meaning of the CD name?

“IF” means much more than a hypothetical statement. IF is not only a symbol of female power and independence (backwards it would read as the Greek letter fi). IF is a sort of musical tale, singing facts and marvels that have taught the world to be better.

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

All the music was composed by RAPSOdiSMURINA, whereas the lyrics were composed by Walter Smurina.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

“ALICE TOYS”

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?

The special message is in fact really simple. Listen to the instinct, which is mainly female! Women did not have, despite everything, the right role of emancipation in the history of humanity, yet.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

“Why shoud I go to eventful places,

Why should I try to be so nice?

Whatsoever...

Keep your traces!

What do you intend?

Throw the dice! Throw the dice.

And I don’t know how to use my mind,

I wish I could pray for what I like

Shall we go so far away?

I think your moving was a spike.

I was inspired.

Why should I sail into their arms

what they made is of poison maybe,

what a science, what religions?

Maybe faithful, maybe.

Where is my favourite world, where is my favourite world?

Where is my favourite toy, where is my favourite toy?”

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

Special persons and women, a wife, a companion, a son, a daughter are the milestone in our lives. We are always grateful to everybody of them to be an infinite source of inspiration.
