Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you a new interview to the Post-Hardcore/ Metalcore  band Above Ashen Anchors from Philippines. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview and also like their FACEBOOK PAGE cause these band is epic.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We were thinking about a post hardcore-ish sounding name, and our bassist came up with "Anchors and Vessels" and "Above Anchors". We agreed with the name "Above Anchors" but we thought that it sounded too plain and there are bands who already have "AA" as their initials. Then we have this facebook friend named Ashen and I was like, "hey, this is a pretty cool name". We searched for the definition of the word (which is ash-color, gray or pale) and we decided to put it in our band's name and poof, Above Ashen Anchors was created. Thanks to Ashen, by the way.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We chose to play this genre because we want to express ourselves and talents fully and we believe that this genre is the best way to do it. Another reason is that it is fresh and really 'in' for our generation. Also, before we started this band, we were all fans of rock, metal, and other subgenres.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, except for Dhielo. I just knew him when I was already tracking the guitars for our first song. Andrew, Justin, Glenn, and I (Charles) were schoolmates in highschool. Justin and I were classmates in 2nd grade.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Charles - A Skylit Drive
Justin - Issues
Andrew - Chelsea Grin
George - The Black Dahlia Murder
Dhielo - Join The Club

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Our experiences, other people's experiences, and the band itself are our inspirations in writing songs.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was at a local bar in West Ave., Quezon City, Manila. It was for the second year anniversary of A Day To Remember's show here in the Philippines.

7. Where would you like to act?

It's our dream to play at big events such as Pulp Summer Slam, Bazooka Rocks, Vans Warped Tour, Soundwave, Rock AM Ring, Download, Reading, etc., but we would love to play anywhere else possible, as long as there are people who are willing to give us their time and support. (and as long as we're not broke)

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

If given a chance, we would like to play alongside A Skylit Drive, I See Stars, Sleeping With Sirens, The World Alive and other bands in the same scene.

9. Whom not?

I think none. For us who are new in this scene, it's a privelege to meet, play, or collaborate with other bands/musicians. It's is a new experience that might help us hone our talents.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright?

I guess all of us have been through that stage fright thingy, on our first gigs, we were just standing and focused on the song, we even forget some parts of the song. For beginners, having that fear is only natural. Remember that as you step on to stage, that moment is your chance to show to people what you've got. Just mind over matter and enjoy what you're doing.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Inspired us the most? Maybe its the bands that we listen to. Of Mice & Men, Sleeping With Sirens, Asking Alexandira, Broadway, and the likes. Because of them, we have that motivation to pursue what we are doing.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We haven't encountered that kind of fan though but we'd love to talk about that if we have one.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Most of our fans (who are not too many, I guess), became our friends and we're happy that they keep on supporting us and we owe them a lot. They are the reason why we want to continue as a band.

14. What do you think of our site?

It's a very nice idea that your site was established to get indie bands seen by other people. Thanks for featuring us!
