Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you a new interview to the Punk Rock/Melodic Hardcore  band Bates Motel from Spain. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview and also like their FACEBOOK PAGE cause these band is epic.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

That´s a good question! The name of the band comes from one of the songs of Mute, one of our biggest influences. After hearing it so many times we felt it was interesting to take our own name from it. Although we always enjoyed with Hitchcock´s film, “Psycho”.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We really enjoy playing this kind of music and we don´t really think that we could play anything else being as satisfied as now. We all grew up listening punk rock and that makes us feel more alive than anything else in the world.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Well… individually we have been trough different music styles like metal or alternative rock which have influenced our way of playing. That makes us be who we are now, that has helped us to improve and understand music better. But we never forgot the punk rock, it has always be in our minds.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Fran: Descendents.
Sergio: Radiohead
Bruno: Rise Against
Ángel: Muse
Guille: Blink-182

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We try to write about out what surrounds us, about the things which worry us and about the stuff we think someone should talk about. Our voices and our lyrics are almost a necessity, are the way to express how we understand the world.

6. Where was your last gig?

We haven´t had the opportunity to hit the road and start giving all the concerts we would like to yet. Our intention is getting known as much as possible. We already have some concerts planified in Valencia and we would like to play in other Spanish cities in a while.

7. Where would you like to act?

With other bands we have always played in small rooms and in spite of the fact that the atmosphere is awesome we dream about plating in festivals with more public. The Warped Tour, that is a dream which seems too far away right now.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We will soon have the pleasure of playing with groups like Kill the president, Sarabix, Spin Off… We used to go to their concerts when we were teenagers with acne in our faces (and some of us are still having it) so sharing concerts with them is already a prize. If we take about international groups we also admire: Mute, NOFX, Belvedere… some Spanish bands have already the opportunity of sharing concerts with them, for us that would be something amazing.

9. Whom not?

Although it´s true that we don´t use to organize anything with groups with a very different style from ours we don´t like to reject anything.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

This is a funny question! Bruno, our guitarist, says that he suffers from stage fright although he holds his own in the stage. We really think that the best thing to do is to relax and enjoy. If you have rehearsed, everything is going to be all right. Just go out there and do your best.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

It is impossible talking about influences and no talking about Mute. We saw them here in Valencia and we have an awesome memory of this concert. And other groups impossible to forget such as This is a standoff, Rise Against, A Wilhelm Scream, Belvedere, Descendents…

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Hahaha the last thing we were asked was If we are going to be naked in our next video. We hadn´t answered yet!

13. What do you think of your fans?

All the people surrounding the band is wonderful; they have supported us since the very beginning and they have been interested in every single detail. Getting know as a group is working pretty good. It´s a pleasure for us seeing that there´s people recognizing the worth of our work.

14. What do you think of our site?

It´s great having a place like this for the diffusion of news and interviews related to so many groups. There´s few people working that hard.

15. Something to add?

To finish with this interview we wanted to thank you everything. We are pleased of having spent this time with you.
