Ghostless - Interview
Hey Breathing The Core fans! Here we bring you another interview. In this case to the Metal / Hardcore band Ghostless, from United Kingdom. They are a great band so nothing more to say than enjoy the interview and give it a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
We had a really tough time choosing the band name for a while. We kept trying to find the best name we could come up with. So i (Joey) was going through lots of bands i enjoyed. Going through albums and track names. The name comes from a song by Crime In Stereo called "Almost Ghostless/ Above The Gathering Oceans" and straight away the word "ghost less" stood out and i pitched it to the guys and we became pretty sold on it straight away.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
When writing its just for me the natural style i find comfortable. I enjoy heavy music and the idea of this band was always to try be as heavy as we could but also try and be kinda pretty. I don't really want to use the word melodic but you get the idea.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Yeah kinda. We all played in bands from London and played shows together at one time or another. I wanted to start a band after leaving my old band. I wrote loads of songs and then asked around using Facebook. Marc said he wanted to play drums and then James said he was interested. Then James was already in a band with Andrew and we needed another guitarist. We then needed a vocalist and Andrew mentioned Nathan and we asked him and it all came together really quickly.
4. Each band member favourite band?
Joey - Right now I'm listening to a lot of The Amity Affliction and Break Even.
James - Lionheart
Andrew - Dayseeker
Marc - Like Moths To FLames
Nathan - I Killed The Prom Queen
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Its just something we really enjoying doing personally. we really enjoy the feelings from listening to music and just want to make our own
6. Where was your last gig?
The last show i played was in a place called Sheffield with my old band.
7. Where would you like to act?
By "act" I'm assuming you mean play or perform. A big festival stage.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
I don't really think that one band really jumps out to me. I really like the idea of festivals and all dayers. Just lots of music and lots of like minded people and friends.
9. Whom not?
Dave Grohl. I honestly do not want to play in front of that guy. i would suck because i would be playing in front of Dave Grohl. He is the man.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright?
Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? I suffer from anxiety. I always get really nervous before playing. But if i have any advise it would be to just go do it and get on with it. As soon as you hit the stage and you play that first note everything goes out of the window and the adrenaline and buzz kicks in. All the crap disappears.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
I think the bands we play shows with mainly. Listening to bands you are seeing a lot of always makes you want to do the best you can and gives you idea's.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
One girl came up to me once and said how she liked my band and we played really well. And then who another member was and for his number. That's was weird
13. What do you think of your fans?
We have just launched the band and its had some great things already said. Just people taking an interest in the band is awesome and i always enjoy talking to people who like what we are doing.
14. What do you think of our site?
We briefly checked it out. I really enjoy people who take the time to give bands a chance to get out to new people and your doing something awesome
15. Something to add?
Yes. Thank you for asking us to do this and giving us a chance to reach out to people that might not have a clue who we are but want to start listening to new bands. Please check us out www.facebook.com/ghostlessband. We always like talking to new people. And keep up the good work
