Across The Atlantic - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you a new interview to the Post-Hardcore band Across The Atlantic from USA. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview and also like their FACEBOOK PAGE
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
It actually came from our drummer Cody. For the longest time we went back & forth on a name and finally that was the first one we all agreed on.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
Jay - Personally speaking, I’ve always found this genre of music to be very genuine & personal. That’s not to say other genres aren’t, but growing up I found this music to be very relatable to my personal life & almost therapeutic in a way. It was nice to know that there was people out there who shared some of the same types of problems I did. And just to have the outlet of going to shows & escaping whatever was going on in real life was such a huge thing for me.
Cody - Because it appeals to many different audiences
Jason - So much energy.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Absolutely no one in the band knew each other before joining. It was a long process finding this line up, but we met most of the guys off Craigslist or online somewhere.
4. Each band member favourite band?
This one is really hard for each of us.
Jay- A day to Remember.
Jason - Incubus
Cody - The Ghost Inside
Julio - I Would Set Myself On Fire For You
Slater - Counterparts
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Pretty much anything and everything that is going on in our everyday life. Writing is a way for us to just kind of reflect & come to grips with where exactly where we are at in life, we would definitely be completely crazy if we didn’t write.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our hometown of San Antonio @The White Rabbit
7. Where would you like to act?
Jay - Anywhere people are willing to listen, music is a universal language in my opinion, so to have the opportunity to play internationally or overseas would be really cool.
Jason - Soundwave Fest would be pretty dope.
Cody- Warped Tour
Julio - Japan and France
Slater - Canada
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Some of the first bands that come to mind are Close To Home, Paramore, Story So Far, Metallica & The Wonder Years all of which we really look up too & tremendously respect.
9. Whom not?
Jay - One Direction, only cause they would make us look bad
Jason - will.i.am I hate that dude....
Cody - Pitbull
Julio - IDK?
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Jay - I definitely have especially early on, like anything else it just takes time the more shows you play the more comfortable you become. It almost becomes second nature after a while. The rest of the band - I get nervous before each show, but once the first song comes on, I grow a pair.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Blink 182, Paramore, Story of the Year & Day To Remember.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
We really can't think of anything of too weird people are usually pretty easygoing.
13. What do you think of your fans?
They are incredible. Too be such a young band & too have so much support is really amazing. Were just so thankful to have such an amazing foundation behind us
14. What do you think of our site?
I think it’s really cool! It’s not often that you find a site that gives unsigned & overlooked bands love like Breathing The Core does.
15. Something to add?
We just really want to thank everyone who’s supported us over this past year & as well as new fans that are just getting into us now. Also a big thanks to all you guys at Breathing The Core for giving us the chance to do this! Oh & our debut EP “First Things First” drops on the 14th of February!!
