Choice Quality - Interview

Hey Breathing The Core fans! Here we bring you another interview. In this case to the Metalcore band Choice Quality, from Austria. They are a great band so nothing more to say than enjoy the interview and give it a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE!  

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that? 

It came out quiet spontaneously. At the time we defined our band-name, the most of us smoked Camel Cigarettes. “Choice Quality” was the slogan on old, classic packages of Camel-cigarettes. So we chose it as our band name. 

2.Why did you want to play this genre? 

At the very beginning we started as a simple punk-rock band. Over the years we got into harder music more and more. Our changing musical tastes influenced the sound of the band. As a result our style and sound gradually morphed into that harsh hardcore/metalcore mixture as it is today. But as it is, evolution never stops.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

No, not really. The center of our band was/is our guitar player Chris. He knew everybody before the band was formed and created the initial connections. 

4. Each band member favourite band? 

Chris: August burns red, 
Georg: Guns n’ Roses, 
Tom: Texas in july, 
Augi: Haste the day

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

There is not a specific source of inspiration. We think all the experiences of our life like love, hate, hope and frustration inspire our songs. It is a quiet spontaneous and dynamic process.

6. Where was your last gig? 

Our last gig took place in Vienna.

7. Where would you like to act? 

There are a lot of locations we dream about to play at. All the big and great venues where all the awesome international bands of our genre play. But let’s be honest. As long as the crowd responds with a good power and force we love to act everywhere.

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

It would be awesome to feature with the guys of Texas In July.

9. Whom not? 

Justin Bieber

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

Yes of course! Each of us suffered from stage fright at a certain point. But it is that feeling which makes you feel alive and let you realize why you are doing all this. Just let that feeling flow through you, it will disappear with the first chords of the show.

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

Bands like Fit for a king, August Burns Red, The Ghost Inside, Texas In July, The Color Morale or Memphis May Fire. There are a lot of great, inspiring bands out there! 

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

Hmm, honestly there is no weird fan related story! How boring is that!

13. What do you think of your fans? 

We always made music because of our own desires. But without the respond and power of the people everything would be just as half as significant as it is! We are glad about every person who listens to our songs and get some force and hope out of it.

14. What do you think of our site? 

It is great! In times of corruption and money it is very important, that there are sites out there just as yours. Our music genre is an overrun and quiet underrated field of music. It is hard to reach people out there, although everybody and everything is connected via the internet today. But that situation makes a lot of things more difficult. Every piece of help and promotion is important and essential! So thank you for letting us be part of your work! 

15. Something to add?

Go out and listen to bands! Have a good time at concerts and find yourself a bit time of salvation out there! You get what you give! Life is too short to get stuck in the drab monotony of everyday life.
