Interviews: Diamonds Are Forever
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you a new interview to the Metalcore/Metal/Deathcore band Diamonds Are Forever from Romania. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview and also like their FACEBOOK PAGE cause these band is epic.
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
Hey there to all of you. We kind of struggled a bit with the band name ideas. We needed a name that could express our thoughts, personalities, and that other people could relate to. The basic metaphoric idea behind Diamonds Are Forever is that precious things last forever, you just need to find yours and hold on to them.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
We play mostly metalcore and deathcore music, but there are a lot more influences in our songs. We play what we feel. This is what comes out from 6 guys. In our opinion, if you don’t feel the music that you play, why do you do it? We are 6 different guys, with different tastes in music, and maybe this is just our “secret”, since we get a lot of influences from different styles of music. We play what we love and this is how it should be.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Our story is kind of interesting. We were to local bands that happened to lack members at the same time. Maybe it was karma that brought us together. We are two groups that the members knew each other since we were kids. The bond between us is so much powerful in for this. We consider ourselves lucky that we are together. For all of you who wants an in depth story, you can watch the band documentary movie from our DVD Bridges Are Born on our Youtube channel. YT/dafband
4. Each band member favourite band?
This is a though one Diamonds Are Forever….
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Inspiration comes from everything that surrounds us. Feelings, people, other music, I don’t know…lots of things contribute to writing a song. Adam Duce of Machine Head said that it might happen to play a tune for a long time and you twitch something that makes the song shine. This happens for us too. Music has to come from the soul. What influences the soul, influences the music as well.
6. Where was your last gig?
We had a show in Bucharest , Romania as an opening act for Caliban. It was great, the crowd, the bands, the show, everything was as it was supposed to be. We have a lot of new things coming in the near future. We have a first single coming out from our future album, so keep an eye out ;)
7. Where would you like to act?
O2 Arena … Or Rock em Ring…now to be more realistic, we take things one step at a time. We hope this year to play in more Europe countries. We have Hungary, Austria, Germany, and others in mind. Hope everything goes well and we make this happen.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
There are a lot of bands that we relate to and we’d love to hang out with. I know someday our dreams will happen. To let you know on how things work for us…when we began this journey, me and Dorin (the drummer) started playing some cover songs. One of them was Roots Bloody Roots of Sepultura. This June we get to open for them in Bucharest…. If you believe in your dreams they will become true!
9. Whom not?
We are nice guys. We don’t have a black list yet…or maybe we do ;)
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
I don’t know about the guys right now, but I think we all had this once in our life. Diamonds Are Forever is not our first experience as a band. Right now I can tell you we all can’t wait to get out there on the stage and play. As long as you play the music you love, you perform from the heart, and understand that you are on that stage for a reason…you shouldn’t worry about stage fright. Just be yourself, be sincere to you and your fans, otherwise they are the first to tell the difference and blame you for that.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
A lot of other bands guided us as music consumers and artist to this point. There are a lot of them and it will be pointless to count them out now and it wouldn’t be fair too. As I told you before, everything that surrounds us inspires us as musicians, as music is the one that can alter your soul.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Weird? I don’t know if I call it this way. Not at all. On our first anniversary we had a show in our home town and a girl fan made us a cake! It was awesome. The last show we had, a friend in Bucharest made us a present: a mesh with our graphics on it. We sure love our fans and they love us back and that’s what this is all about: connecting to one another by the means of music.
13. What do you think of your fans?
I think I already answered this one… We are fortunate enough to have friends and fans that care for us and what are we up to. We always push ourselves as hard as we can to deliver the best of us. The feedback and energy we receive back helps us push this further. Our fans are a part of Diamonds Are Forever as this wouldn’t exist without them.
14. What do you think of our site?
It’s wonderful to see people involved in music in general. You don’t have to be an artist to actually show how much you appreciate the music. I think your involvement and support, along with other dedicated people help and support music in general. You do it in your way, and we thank you for this. I hope all the best for you guys.
