Life For A Life - Interview - Breathing The Core

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, our first interview! In this case to the Hardcore band Life For A Life from USA. Check this band and like their facebook page.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Our group of friends has always been outcast among our community so we sort of developed a you got my back I got yours and that's how it will always be hence Life For A Life.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We all grew up going to hardcore and punk rock shows and picked up a passion for the music. We've also all had friends and family in diy bands and it just seemed like fun so we wanted to give it a shot.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

A few of us, we all sort of met through mutual friends in the scene. However we are now all family.

4. Each band member favourite band?

It'll be tough to answer because we each love different genres.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

A big part of our influence is the disobedience of social conformity, rise against complete government control, and much more. Also just where we are from.... the meth capital of the world, our whole lives we've seen friends and loved ones start smoking dope or pick up the gun and start getting involved with gangsd. While we do have a few friends who are doing well, a majority of them went down that path.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was a hometown show in Palmdale with locals and some touring bands that needed a show. It was awesome we got the touring bands some money and that's always awesome to support hardworking hardcore bands.

7. Where would you like to play?

Anywhere and everywhere. We would love to play all over the world someday.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

As far as on a track? I don't know, we've kicked around the idea of maybe a rapper hopping on a track. Usually we just have homies do guest spots though.

9. Whom not?

No one comes to mind. We are pretty open to guest spots on tracks. However if we don't know you we obviously wont let you on.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright?

Any tip for beginners on how to beat that. I don't think any of us have, I feel like if anything we get a adrenaline kick out of playing haha. So as far as advice I'd say just jam it, have fun just hanging out with your homies don't even sweat that sort of thing. Think about why you are on stage and what your goal is. Let the music do the rest.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Have Heart, AFI & Rage Against The Machine. But for the most part all hardcore inspires us. The ideology means a lot to us.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I always think it's odd when people ask for a autograph. That's not really weird though. Its just a strange thing for us. We don't view LFAL as a big deal. We just love to play music.

13. What do you think of your fans?

No fans just friends.

14. What do you think of our site?

It's awesome and we really appreciate you guys taking the time to ask us some stuff!!!
