OVER - Interview

Hey Breathing The Core fans! Here we bring you another interview. In this case to the Melodic Punk Rock / Post-Hardcore  band OVER, from Italy. They are epic so nothing more to say than enjoy the interview and like their FACEBOOK PAGE!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?  

Well, it didn't came out just like that, we had been thinking a lot about it before and then in the end we opted for "OVER" , not meaning "something is over" but with the intention of saying that the passion for what we're doing and the determination to reach our purpose is "over" everything else.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?  

We haven’t actually decided it at first. Our first songs had many influences because of the many line-up's changes inside the band. Even if the main idea (talking about composition) always came up from Lily, there were many influences inside our first works.  Our EP "All OVER Again" is a mix of several music genres such as Punk-Rock, Pop-Punk, Hardcore and a bit of Metal. Then when the line-up became more stable, the influences, as consequence, became clearer, in fact our new single "Like Ashes Underground" is classifiable in the Melodic Hardcore / Pop-Punk genre.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

No, we had complete different lives, but thanks to this project we’ve become friends.

4. Each band member favorite band? 

Lily (Vocals): Tonight Alive
Nick (Guitar & Scream): Trivium
Oscar (Bass): Pierce The Veil
Broccolo (Guitar): McFly
Fede (Drums): While She Sleeps

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Lily: Nobody in particular, I usually get inspiration by situations, and by how these situations make me feel;  sometimes I'm also inspired by just listening to something new that gives me new ideas. Then I start writing a new song and I put all my feelings in it.

6. Where was your last gig? 

Our last gig was nearby Milan, Italy.

7. Where would you like to act? 

We would love to tour around USA! People there are amazing, always ready and excited to ear some new stuff! Even playing in Japan should be cool!

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

Jenna McDougall from Tonight Alive or Kellin Quinn from Sleeping With Sirens.

9. Whom not? 

There aren’t any band we wouldn't  play with, but for sure we wouldn't like to play with someone who's not happy to play with us: they wouldn't be so friendly ha-ha

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

Broccolo (Lead Guitar) has suffered from stage fright for a while but he's been helped by all of us to beat this fear. We've explained him that a show is not a show at all if on the stage you don't act and behave like a real super rock star! Someone who stands like a tree on the stage is not cool, it's actually boring! When he finally noticed it, he has overcome his fear.

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

Lily: I have to admit that when I was 15, Paramore has been such an inspiration to me and gave me strength to dream and to believe that one day I could have had my own band and my own project. Even if now I don't appreciate their music that much as I used to, although I'll always be grateful to that band for this.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

Nothing

13. What do you think of your fans? 

We're lucky to have them and we hope to reach more and more people with our music!

14. What do you think of our site? 

Personally I think that "Breathing the Core" is a well done website, I love it! It's nice what you're doing with bands cause you give'em the chance to be noticed by more people.
