Street To The Ocean - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you a new interview to the Deathcore / Metal / Melodic - Hardcore  band Street To The Ocean from Austria. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview and also like their FACEBOOK PAGE  cause these band is epic.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The band was first called „Against All Fallin Tears“, but for many people the name was connected to a different genre. One day Kevin (Guitar) came up with the name “Street to the Ocean”. So we decided to pick this one. It’s easy to remember and says nothing about our genre.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?  

Our genre is hard to describe. I know a lot of other bands are also struggling with it, but if I have to answer this question I would probably say we play a mix of Metalcore, Hardcore and Melodic-Deathcore.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Three of us were friends before the band was created.

4. Each band member favourite band?  

Patrick (Vocals): Demon Hunter, All That Remains and Callejon.

Marco (Bass): Muse, Avenged Sevenfold and Children of Bodom

Manuel (Guitar): Parkway Drive

Kevin (Guitar): Avenged Sevenfold, The Ghost Inside and August Burns Red

Richi (Drums): The Ghost Inside, Stick To Your Guns, August Burns Red, Being As An Ocean

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?  

Our biggest inspiration are our Fans, Families and Friends. We just want to play our music but at the same time it’s the music of everyone. Without our supporters we would not exist.

6. Where was your last gig?  

Our last gig was in Vienna. The location is called “Szene”. It was incredibly exciting to support other Austrian Bands and find new friends there.

7. Where would you like to act?  

One of my biggest dreams is being part of the “Nova Rock” line-up and other festivals and shows in other countries.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?  

I would like to play with different bands. Of course we would like to play some songs with Parkway Drive, Avenged Sevenfold and other famous bands but It would be really nice to play with Austrian bands like All Faces Down, Thesis and many more.

9. Whom not?  

With every musician who is making music for money.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Our screamer Patchi was so nervous before we played our first gig. He was afraid of forgetting the lyrics and the others were just a little bit frightened but everything has been alright.

I think if you’re nervous just think about how excited you are to play this show.  Every person standing in front of the stage is there because they want to see your performance so don’t be afraid. You play the music you love, so nobody gives a fuck if you make a mistake. You just have to show enough passion and have fun on stage.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Metalcore bands like Parkway Drive, Callejon, Adept and many more inspire us but bands like Iron Maiden, Avenged Sevenfold and All That Remains are a big inspiration too.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

A fan asked Manuel if he could get his damaged strings.

13. What do you think of your fans?  

Most of our fans are friends and families but we appreciate every person who listens to our music and supports our dream.

14. What do you think of our site?

I’ve been visiting your website almost every day and I’m really impressed because you publish cool interviews and visitors may find out interesting things about nice artists.
