Interviews: Vulvodynia

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you a new interview to the Deathcore/Slaming Brutal Death Metal band Vulvodynia from South Africa. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview and also like their FACEBOOK PAGE cause these band is epic.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We were actually scrolling through a list of chronic pain conditions when we came across this ''Vulvodynia is a chronic pain condition situated in and around the opening of the vagina for which there is no identifiable cause.''. And we just knew straight away that that had too be the name of our band!

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We just love making super heavy music. Here in South Africa there are very few bands that actually play anything heavy. So we really wanted too start creating music that would appeal too all the Death Metal/Deathcore fans here in South Africa and the world.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Nope, we had never actually met each other in person when we decided too start the band. Luke and I first started speaking on Facebook after we had both left the bands we were playing in at the time. Both members in the band are situated on either side of the country so we have too catch a plane in order too meet up.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Luke: Acrania is definitely my favourite band at the moment!

Duncan: Waking The Cadaver has become my new favourite band after their latest release ''Real-Life Death''

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We take inspiration from a lot of different things out there. Our main inspirations are definitely other musicians and bands that have created heavy music here in South Africa in the past. Lyrically I take all my inspiration from studying the psyche and motives of different mass murderers and serial killers.

6. Where was your last gig?

We haven't actually played any gigs or shows as of yet due too both our members staying in different area codes. But we intend on recording and releasing our EP and Full Length album before we bring in extra members too start playing shows.

7. Where would you like to act?

We definitely wanna play most of the huge metal festivals here in South Africa such as Ramfest and Metal For Africa.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

There are countless bands that we would love too feature with, but Acrania would definitely be the band we'd love too feature with the most!

9. Whom not?

Any pop artist.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright?Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Haha Luke and I have both suffered from stage fright in our previous bands but that definitely fades away after hearing the crowd enjoy your first song. If we had too give any advice it would definitely be too get as drunk and high as possible before heading onto stage.

11. What bands have you inspired the most?

The list of artists that inspire us is way too huge too mention! But we're inspired by artists from all sorts of genre's especially artists with that dark/horror aspect behind their music.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

A fan once asked for a photo with us and our signatures. Haha we're a 2 piece unsigned underground band that isn't at all big yet so this request was quite funny too us. Our signatures aren't worth a thing!

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are definitely a crazy bunch, but we love them all too bits! After all if it wasn't for the fans our music would be worthless!

14. What do you think of our site?

We absolutely love it!! Your site is doing the music scene and all the underated bands such a huge favour by going out of your way too promote and spread their names. So for that we take our hats off too you Breathing The Core!!

15. Something to add?

Our EP entitled 'Lord Of Plagues' is going too drop on the 10th of May! So in the mean time check out our first song 'Drowned In Vomit'!! \m/
