When Autumn Follows - Interview - Breathing The Core

Hey, Breathing The Core fans here we bring you another interview in this case to the Hardcore band When Autumn Follows from Australia. Read this interview to this great band and like their facebook page!

1. Where did you get the idea for your name? Was it planned or did it just happen?

When coming up with the name we all decided we didn’t want a clique name or anything to do with murder or death cause that’s not the image that we want. We are just 6 guys who love to play music. We were all just talking one day and Rhys (vocalist) asked what followed autumn. Rhys then said that would be a good name for the band and after thinking about it we all decided that we would name ourselves “When Autumn Follows”.

2. Why do you want to play this genre?

We have all enjoyed the metal genre and playing this style of music just brings a lot of joy and happiness when we play it. We all love playing this style of music and we wouldn’t stop for anything.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Rhys (vocalist) and Nathan (drummer) used to be in a band together called “I, Confess”. Chris (guitarist) just left a band called “From Riches to Ruins”. Rhys was in talks with Chris and together we both decided to start our own band together. Rhys then asked his former drummer Nathan if he would be interested in joining and Nathan agreed to join the band. After looking for ages trying to find another member, Rhys got told by a friend of his that there was a guitarist who was keen to join a metal band. After talks Rhys got Rainer (guitarist) to join the band. Stephen (Guitarist) was friends with our drummer Nathan so we asked Stephen if he would be our 3rd guitarist. We haven’t had much luck with our bass player but after about a year we can finally welcome Tim (bass) to our band he was good friends with the band so we decided to get a friend to play rather than just anybody.

4. Each band member’s favourite band?

Rhys – Parkway Drive and Capture the crown
Chris – Whitechapel
Rainer – Temporal and Polaris
Stephen – A day to remember
Tim – For All Eternity
Nathan – Make them Suffer

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Lyrical when writing our songs we don’t just want to write about anything we want to have passion, meaning and hope in our songs. We are currently writing our EP which is titled “A New End” the whole EP is about fighting for what you really believe in and not giving up on life. Cause there is hope and love in this world and you should never give up no matter how down you may be.

6. Where was your last gig?

We have not played a show this year but our vocalist got the chance to fill in for our mate’s band “Until Darkness Falls” in Toukley which he got to play alongside I Killed the Prom Queen, Make Them Suffer, Aversions Crown. It was such a good experience to meet and talk to some big bands like that and see how they started off and how they ended up where they are today.

7. Where would you like to act?

We all want to go on tour and show the world our music we would love to play every country if we can but the main places we would love to play are Europe and America.

8. Whom would you like to be featured with?

We have all been massive fans of Parkway Drive so to be on a show with them would be a dream come true for us. We would also love to play alongside bands like Bring me the horizon, of mice and men, make them suffer and crown the empire.

9. Whom not?

There are no bands that we don’t want to play with. We see all bands just the same as we see ourselves and just to be playing a show is massive for us so we don’t mind who we get to play with.

10. Any of you ever suffered from stage fright?

Any tips for beginners on how to beat that? None of us has ever suffered from stage fright. Advice for beginner bands would to be just get up and have a go and the more you do it the more confident you will get and the less scary it will be. If it’s what you love then you won’t mind getting up there and playing cause the feeling of being up on stage and playing in front of people is just amazing.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

As a band we all have different bands who inspire us but the main ones are parkway drive, confession, make them suffer and in hearts wake. Vocal wise the band that inspires me the most is Capture the crown, just because they are just a local band like us and they have made it pretty big and the vocalist from that band is just amazing and who I look up to.

12. What’s the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

This is not what a fan has asked for but what she has done. Before we had any music she told us how amazing we are and how much she loves us. She added all of us on facebook and kept messaging us.

13. What do you think of our site?

We all think that your site is really good. The fact that you are supporting music and trying to get more people noticed is really good and if more sites were like yours the music scene would be much better.
