Buffalo Hugs - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Post-Hardcore/Metalcore band Buffalo Hugs  from Ukraine, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. All the questions are answered by Vlad a member of the band. We have nothing more to say, enjoy this excellent interview of this more excellent band. 

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We are Buffalo Hugs! Initially we had several variants of the name, but none of them satisfied us, so  we just came up with two words: “Buffalo” – something big, aggressive and severe (this is exactly what we are passing in our music) and “Hugs” - that means that we love our listeners and fans, we are very friendly, no matter the age of our listeners.  Because the music unite us!

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We playthis genre because we like it, and when you like something, you have to do it! You have to love your own music, that's when you really get something cool!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, we all live in the same city and we met at different concerts, so we knew each other before this band and some of us have played in bands, so one day so our vocalist Slava gathered us all. Recently, new member entered in our band, is our keyboard player call Vadim, we knew him before he entered to the band.  We are happy with our lineup cause we are real friends. Sometimes there are conflicts and disagreements, but we try to correct them. Band should be based on a strong friendship. And we are proud that we can find an approach to each other, and find the golden mean!

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Inspiration? It's simple. Starting with our favorite bands and finishing with the environment. Have you ever been able to get inspiration from looking at the bum on the bench? You will not believe, but we can do that.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last concert was with Eskimo Callboy. It was unforgettable! The energy, the atmosphere, the support of all those people who were there made us rejoice as children. It was especially nice to hear from the guys Eskimo Callboy they liked our performance. It was pretty cool!

7. Where would you like to act?

Of course, like all the bands of the CIS, we would like to act at least once abroad. It’s interesting to see how foreign audiences will like our music. Well, if you let us dream, then of course we would like to to act on the big fests (Rock am Ring, Warped Tour), with many popular groups from around the world.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We all like to work with our idols. They are professionals. We would like to gain experience, learn the secrets of their success.

9. Whom not?

We can not say that there are people or bands. But the only thing that can be said - we do not like musical projects, where musicians play just without enjoying it. And when the musician plays for money!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright?Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Of course, each of us was nervous before going on stage. This is absolutely normal. But the excitement extends immediately when you see the glowing eyes of fans, when you hear them scream, when you feel that they love you. It is worth living.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Architects, Bring Me The Horizon,  Eskimo Callboy, Attila, Devil Sold His Soul 12)Such cases have not yet been. But we hope for our fans imagination.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We havent got weird cases, but we hope we will have in a near future because our fans have a lot of imagination.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Without them, we are nothing. Thanks to them, we want to move on. We just love them! It is wonderful to see them smile! See how they jump with you and enjoy your music! It's cool when you sing along, and asked to perform an encore!

14. What do you think of our site?
