Devean - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Progressive Metalcore band Devean from Argentina, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE.  We have nothing more to say, enjoy this excellent interview of this more excellent band. 

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The name came from a word one of us invented, and we all thought it sounded cool, so we went with it, as simple as that haha.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Well we choose this kind of music because offers al lot of possibilities for expression, it is a very versatile genre, you can take influence from a lot of other styles and it will sound good, like post rock, ambient music, etc.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, they all (except me, Ale, the vocalist) were together in a band called Hyperion.

4. Each band member favourite band?

We couldn't tell exactly, but we like all kind of modern metal, I, personally, listen to a lot of progressive metal and post rock.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I don't think there is an actual BAND that inspires our music, we like to think our music represents a visual image, a landscape. "What music would represent this LANDSCAPE we are thinking of?", that I think, is a big inspiration when writing music.

6. Where was your last gig?

We didn't have any gig so far, we are just starting haha.

7. Where would you like to act?

There are just 2 "decent" local venues where we could make shows, that's our goal for now.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Maybe with some local bands we are friends with, there are not many bands playing this genre in our city.

9. Whom not?

No one actually

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Haha I don't think so. Just relax, have fun, maybe have a small drink before.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Uhm we listen to a lot of Architects and Erra, those are the major bands we have in common. I know the other guys also like a lot Chelsea Grin and Make Them Suffer, but I can't be too accurate with it right now.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing so far haha

13. What do you think of your fans?

I wouldn't say that we have FANS, since we've just started, but people is really receptive and supportive with this first song out, so we are very happy about that and we really appreciate it.

14. What do you think of our site?

I think it is amazing what you are doing for the scene, and the site is really cool and fun to watch   Keep it up and thanks a lot!.
