Lies Of Nazca - Interview

Hey Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Progressive Deathcore band Lies Of Nazca from Italy, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, enjoy this excellent interview of this more excellent band.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?   

Well, this is kinda funny. The idea came up about a year ago during a rehearsing night. We were talking about the concept of our upcoming record, all topics of discussion were a lot into stuff like "bigger designs", "extraterrestrial gods" 'n such, and our singer was actually kinda stoned (not even kiddin' haha). Suddenly he stopped everything and screamed : "I HAVE IT, I HAVE THE NAME DUDES". And then he explained to us about the whole Nazca thing, about the lines, the mistery behind it. He found out about it on the web but he didn't think about that as a name till that very moment. A little word play on the lines/lies part, a couple of changes to the concept to make everything fit in and then we had it. We all loved the name.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?   

You know, we never really sat down and thought "We have to do this, we have to do that". I guess we like to play this kind of music because it can be heavy, ambient and schematic at the same time.   And also because it's a costant challenge both in writing and playing.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?  

Three of us were friends since high school, about 2 years ago Matteo met Diego in music school and we found our drummer Luca through a mutual musician friend some months later. We've been pretty keen since then.

4. Each band member favourite band?   

This is a hard question for everyone haha. I think we can list a "favourite artist of the moment"

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

We are just trying to write music that we like. Basically everything and/or every event could lead to an idea, a riff or even an almost complete song.

6. Where was your last gig?  

Lecco with Arms Like Anchors and Between Whiles

7. Where would you like to act?   

Every place in the world that want to see us perform. People matter, not the venue.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?   

We got a couple of features in our upcoming album that already satisfied a lot of our aims. But thinking bigger I would say Michael Keene.

9. Whom not?   

Haha I don't know... T-Pain maybe?

10. What bands have inspired you the most?   

As far as metal music goes definetly bands like The Faceless, Born of Osiris, After The Burial, Erra and so on. we have a long list of influences. If we expand this to non metal music the list would be endless.
