Mortal Agony - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you a new interview to the Grindcore/Hardcore band Mortal Agony from Germany. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview and also like their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?  

The name was easily found, and it was a very quick thing. We do not know it exactly but we still feel well with our bandname... and by the way, it sounds pretty cool.

2. Why did you want to play this genre? 

We started doing music together with the aim to play the hard stuff we listen to. Mostly Death Metal and Grind Core. And we still like that.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

Yes we did. In the beginning there have been just friends from school time and some other guys we knew from making party in our Metal Pub.

4. Each band members favourite band? 

Hard to say, it changes very often. Some of us only listen to Death Metal and Core stuff, others are more open minded. So do not wonder about the fact that our favourite bands go through all the genres of music.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

I think there is always that riff you find by playing around for fun. The song around it sometimes is written quite quickly, sometimes it takes quite some time. In the past there was jamming around, today the songs are, let me say, planned more. We are proud to be neither political nor religious, just telling thoughts about the world and our society, and all the problems in it.

6. Where was your last gig? 

At Nuremberg Metal Fest, a week ago, it was great.

7. Where would you like to act? 

I think we like to be close to the fans of the music we play. At big festivals, there is alway a distance between the actor and the audience, but festivals got that special atmosphere. In smaller clubs, on smaller stages, there is more intensity between the band and the audience and the action on both sides is more reflected. We cannot say where it is better to play, we like it anyway.

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

Never thought about... got two singers, thats enough. But we always want to be featured by a crazy crowd, making the show like hell an earth!

9. Whom not? 

A bored audience.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? 

I got stagefright and it is ok. I like that special feeling, getting a little bit nervous. Try to warm up and kidding on each other helps. Do not start playing as soon as possible, take a little time to feel convenient on stage, because every stage is special.

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

That changes over the years, I think Pigsty, Rotten Sound, Nasty, a little bit of Black Metal here, a little bit of Hard Core there. Some progressive stuff you can find also in our music. Despised Icon, Cryptopsy... hard to tell...

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

Cannot tell. Lets go to the next question;-)

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love our fans.

14. What do you think of our site? 

I like the idea, that there are people working their ass off to promote music and art. please keep up that great work, we appreciate that.
