White Walls - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Melodic Hardcore band White Walls  from Germany, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE.  We have nothing more to say, enjoy this excellent interview of this more excellent band. 

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We didn't plan it or anything, it came out and we all agreed on it. With 'White Walls' we basically mean an empty space, a graceless surrounding and you can do whatever you like with it. You can either live in it or change it to your will and create what ever you want.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

It's a really meaningful genre of music, for us it's the best composition of all the music we like, which is loud, powerful and melodic music with atmosphere. We really enjoy listening to hardcore music and that was what we wanted to do when we first met. This genre now has everything we love right now.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

This is a fun story to tell, Paul, Melvin and Leif already knew each other and played in their first band together. Chris met them at a show with his own old band so Paul and Chris wanted to form a new band together - which didn't happen. When Hanno moved to Flensburg he started the project with Paul and from there on all the pieces just came together.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Well, we can't exactly tell one favourite band but some bands we really like a lot are More Than Life, For The Fallen Dreams (older stuff), Northlane, counterparts, Architects, Heart in Hand but also smaller bands like Seasons In Wreckage, Conveyer, Grieved and Saviour who sadly disbanded. We also also enjoyed the new In Hearts Wake record a lot.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We put focus on our own mood, the atmosphere and emotions. The lyrics are mainly about events in life it's alltogether just feelings. We like to use metaphors in the lyrics so that enables everyone to cope with them and get his/her own message by interpreting them for themselves.

6. Where was your last gig?

It's been a hometown show with our friends in Leben and Road To Manila from Denmark - check them out!

7. Where would you like to act?

Australia.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We'd love to have some guest vocals from the likes of Charlie Holmes, Sam Carter or Adrian Fitipaldes. They all have great voices.

9. Whom not?

Well we'd never work with people we can't connect with such as people supporting racism, facism or sexism.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Everyone of us felt stage fright, now it's mostly that we're super excited to play. Play the music you love and stand for. You should be really confident with your music and be sure in what you do. We're always happy to show our music to strangers. Don't be afraid of their reaction, even if they leave the room. Do your thing and don't think too much about it ;)

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Heart In Hand are really inspiring, Seasons In Wreckage and also we love the drive of Counterparts.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing has been weird enough to be mentioned here - although we can't wait for some crazy stuff to happen!

13. What do you think of your fans?

We're extremely happy about anyone who likes our music!

It's so great to see that you support underground bands and push them, we really appreciate that.
