Aware The Oppressed - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Metalcore band Aware The Oppressed from Mexico, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE.  We have nothing more to say, enjoy this excellent interview of this more excellent band. 

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We kinda planned it, beacuse I came with the idea of Behead the Oppressed, but Roman and Pablo didn't like it, then it was Warn the Civilians, I didnt like it, so we tried to combine it, and Aware the Oppressed was born.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We didn't intend to be metalcore, we just played whatever came to our minds, and combine our influences and styles, because inside the band the influences vary a lot.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

The vocalist, Roman, the guitarrist Pablo and I, the drummer, had already played together before, but nothing too serious, then we started composing our own shit. Kevin (Guitarrist) and Waffa (Bassist) were already friends and had played in several bands before. Then Kevin joined the band, and told us about Waffa, because we needed a bassist, and here we are.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Roman: Avenged Sevenfold, Killswitch Engage

Pablo: Dream Theater

Gustavo: Lamb of God, The Black Dahlia Murder

Waffa: Type O Negative, Nocturnal Deppresion, Nasty Pig Dick

Kevin: Lamb of God, Thy Art is Murder, Infant Annihilator

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Roman: Modern wars basically.

6. Where was your last gig?

In our town, with 2 national mexican bands who were on tour, awesome show.

7. Where would you like to act?

Wacken Open Air, Download Fest or Hellfest ... it would be a dream came true.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

With Lamb of God.

9. Whom not?

Pitbull.

10.Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright?Any tip for begginers on how to beat that?

Pablo: It happened to me the first time we played live, I felt like shit to be honest. My advice would be, when you feel like that,  to think that the crowd is really liking your show, so that you feel more confident.

11.What bands have inspired you the most?

Roman: My chemical romance, Tool, Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold.

Gustavo: Basically my favorite bands, Lamb of god, black dahlia, allegaeon, tool.

Kevin: Here comes the kraken, because they represent Mexico in the international metal scene I guess. Killswitch Engage.

Waffa: Wehmut, Type O Negative, Cult of Herodias, The Morningside, Lustre, Lifelover, Noenum, Forgotten Tomb, Belanova.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Aint that exciting, but havent been asked something crazy yet so... thats as funny as we can get with that one :(

13. What do you think of your fans?

Kevin: Personally, I have felt like they are there, always supporting the band, giving positive feedback, at the shows sharing the energy with us, and it's amazing, from the beginning to the present, we are really grateful, although they are a few, they are great.

14. What do you think of our site?

It's really cool that you support small bands, to get known around the world, I hope it keeps growing !
