Behold Our Skipper - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Metalcore band Behold Our Skipper from Philippines, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, enjoy this excellent interview of this more excellent band.
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
We first named the first line up “Burning Cannabis” Haha yes yes lol we were just a cover band back then! After getting the new line up, Edward (guitars) suddenly just changed the Facebook page name of our band into Behold Our Skipper. He didn’t even mention it to us. Haha! But we all liked it. Skipper means captain, and for Edward he sees the captain as God. We’re not a religious band tho! We vary in beliefs, but the important for us is the chemistry in us as a band and as friends writing music.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
We know that it’s hard and it will take some time to be a successful metal band especially here in the Philippines, but really playing this kind of music makes us happy and contented. That’s really just about it!
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
No. Edward (guitars) just posted on Aldreen’s (drums) Facebook wall to form a band, they didn’t know each other. Aldreen just got hooked so fast when Edward mentioned Texas In july in the business. So there we were practicing TIJ and some ABR songs in Aldreen’s place for gigs. We decided to replace our old bassist and the singer for the band’s musical sake. From there, we started writing. We got a whole lot better. We love our lineup right now and we won’t be replacing anyone again.
4. Each band member favourite band?
Aldreen (Drums) - Texas In july
Christian (Guitars) - August Burns Red
Bok (Bass) - Texas In July
Edward (Guitars) - Northlane
Raymund (Vox) - Northlane
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
The people behind Texas In July and Northlane, because they put their musical skills to the limit for the pleasure of the listeners.
6. Where was your last gig?
At our mates from Saving The Dying Hope for their 2nd anniversary gig! In a small bar, but with lots of friends and fans!
