Regression - Interview

Hey Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Melodic/Post-Hardcore band Regression from UK, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, enjoy this excellent interview of this more excellent band and below the interview you have their biography.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The name corresponds to the style of music we wanted to play when we set out; a raw more stripped back sound, regressing away from some of the more over produced sound you get with some bands today.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?   

We're all influenced by different types of hardcore and melodic hardcore. Giving the songs the dynamic of all of our influences works well with the style of vocals and the lyrical content.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?      

Me, Johno and Levi all know each other from previous bands. We found Adam online and someone we knew introduced us to Rick (our original drummer) who introduced us to Jay Kay when he left.

4. Each band member favourite band?  

Matt - Bouncing Souls

Jay Kay - Alexisonfire

Johno - Reign Supreme

Adam - Counterparts

Levi - Poison The Well

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?     

All the bands listed above plus loads more. And generally things that just piss us off about the world and it's current state.

6. Where was your last gig?      

Sound Control in Manchester with our boys in Lock and Key. Had loads of fun! Check them out if you haven't already.

7. Where would you like to act?      

Groezrock would be awesome but anywhere in mainland Europe, the kids go crazy at shows over there.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?     

Propagandhi would be an unbelievable band to share the stage with.

9. Whom not?               

I don't think we'd go down very well at an Eagles gig.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?          

We've all been gigging from a pretty early age so we don't tend to get stage fright. There's always a bit of nerves before going on but that's curable with beer.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?       

Musically we draw inspiration from any of the bands listed above but as an inspiration being in a band, we have a lot of respect for what Bring Me The Horizon have done and been through. Even if they're not one of our favourite bands or you don't like them, you have to give them credit for getting the amount of shit they've had and still persevering with what they believe in.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?       

None of us have ever really been asked anything strange by people at shows. So far we've met some cool people and hope it continues. We'll let you know of we get asked anything weird!

13. What do you think of your fans?       

Same as above, so far they've been awesome! We'll always have a chat with anyone at shows so hopefully we'll make some new friends.

14. What do you think of our site?      

The sites awesome. Gives new and upcoming bands like us a chance to get some recognition in places we haven't had any. Keep up the good work!
