High Kick Drive By - Interview

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?  

Band name came out when we were „cruisin' in the hood“ in our friend's car. There were 8 of us in the car, 4 on the back seat, 1 friend was lying on top of us and had his foot sticking out the window when someone said : "Hey, let's pull off a high kick drive by!". We didn't mean to make it our band name at first, but we had no ideas for a name, and had a gig coming up so we went with the high kick drive by, we like it because it has a story behind it.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?  

When we first got together to play, we were just making random covers of the songs we like, and it all kinda blended together and we started making our own songs. We try to stay open minded and not limiting ourselves to genres. It came out the way it did and we just liked it; we hope the rest of the world will too.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes we all are friends for years, some of us even started playing our instruments together and we are frineds since then so it was only a matter of time before we wolud meet together in the band.

4. Each band member favourite band?  

Dario - I listen to a lot of different genres of music but my all time favourite band is In Flames.

Filip - Fair To Midland.

Josip - I dont have a favourite band because i listen to many different genres of music so it depends on my mood.

Ivan - in recent time I listen to Deftones alot, but generally, I guess that In Flames are my #1

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We usually just get together and jam 'till something comes out of it.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was in our hometown Zagreb at a club "Sax".

7. Where would you like to act?  

Wherever we get the chance to, a gig is a gig.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?  

We all could never agree on the same band but here are a few: In Flames, Dream Theater, Deftones etc.

9. Whom not?  

There is no one that we wouldn't wanna play with.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

We all had stage fright at the beginning. Then, after a number of shows, a small dose of stage fright still stays but as soon as we get on the stage it turns into good energy.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

We are inspired by music in general, there's not any particular band/bands.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

Hmmm we can't think of any right now, guess there aren't any yet.

13. What do you think of your fans?  

We all are grateful to all people who support us in any possible way.

14. What do you think of our site?  

It's always good to see sites that promote and support band, especially unsigned bands so keep on the good work.
