Thell Barrio - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Hardcore/Latin band Thell Barrio from Mexico, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?  

THELL BARRIO, is a  chicano style to say, "Del Barrio" (from the Hood), and since we all come from slums, we thought that was the best name to describe who we are.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?  

Well, we all loved the powerful sound and agressive lyrics that Hardcore and Metal uses to send messages to all people, and we all had the idea of bringing the way we live in the streets in Mexico to our music and lyrics, and only in this genre we can do it our way, but we added our special sound with latin percussions, and a touch of hip hop frasing to the lyrics, that way we got our own LATIN-CORE sound.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

From  the original line-up we remain 4 (Gallero - vocalist, El patron - guitarrist, Charro - guitarrist, Solin - percussionist) we are from the same neighborhood (Santa Margarita, Jalisco, Mexico), we grew up together and then with the passing of time we add to the band (Chicano - bass and   Marlon - drums)

4. Each band member favourite band?  

Ithink we have to pass on this question because we have many favorite bands to mention only one.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

The streets, the people who live everyday`s opression coming from  the corrupt politicians, and their laws against the regular people country, all the violence we live with the war against drugs, all the trouble that a young boy has to live through gangs, and crime. stuff like that is what inspire us to keep strong and writing.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was at the Alicia a very famous venue in Mexico City, there a lot of big hardcore bands have played, like, Madball, Terror, EMMURE, etc, there we end up our 5th Mexican national tour, "LA NUEVA ERA - MEXICO TOUR 2014" across 20 cities.

7. Where would you like to act?  

There is a lot of places that we would like to act, the Wacken, the Hellfest, the Brutal Assault, the Summer Slaughter, and more

8. Whom would you like to feature with?  

Good question but, hard anwser, because we admire so many artists in our genre but probably, Cristhian Machado, from Ill Niño would be a good feat.

9. Whom not?  

There is a lot o stupid and plastic artists in the world bro, with non o them.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

Not at all, we have been through hard things in our lives and we have to overcome to them so we never get panic, or stage fright, we recomend to the beginners to just let go the stress, and ask themselves in that moment "is not this what i alwas dreamed of??" so, dont fear and start the show.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Sepultura, Soulfly, Slipknot, Fear Factory, Ill Niño, Brujeria,

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

At this time in our group life we have never recieved a really weird thing from our people.

13. What do you think of your fans?  

We dont see them as fans, we like to treat them as part of our great big family, so we are more into the brotherhood relationship, and what we think about them?, they had been the greatest with us the always go crazy at the gigs, singing the songs even in Europe our songs are in spanish but they sing the songs thats very cool for us.

14. What do you think of our site?  

We like people like you that help the growing bands to have a space so more people in the world can get to know more new bands, and we respect that so much, and your site is very well documented, detailed news and info from the bands, and the design is also nice to the eyes, good colors
