A War Within - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Metalcore band A War Within from USA, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?  

the band name comes from our struggles. its a perfect example of who we are as people as well as our goals in life. we had a hard time coming up with a name when we first started. we had a very long list and none of them were really satisfying our beliefs until this one came along. as a band we stop at nothing to make sure we complete our tasks as best and in the manner fitting them. so once this one came about we all just knew we had found it.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?  

Were not even sure what genre we fit in. we have very eclectic styles of music and enjoy a wide variety between all of us. this makes a fun time writing usually because we each work out whats important for the song and not the sound. we start by caring about writing the best songs we can. after that, we just let the energy of the song determine the sound of the song from there. we all like heavy rock/metal genres so we kinda like letting the parts do all talking. what genre do you think we fit?

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?  

The core members of the group have known each other the longest. each of us know that each other has their strengths and their weaknesses. we've all been in bands for a while and it just felt right when we decided this was just the path we had to take. were not always the smoothest when we work together but we trust each other where we know the job will get done right. we feel that some of our best songs have come from us fighting about what to do next. we definitely are not the perfect group but were all determined beyond belief and wont let anything in the way of moving forward towards our dreams.

4. Each band member favourite band?  

This is always the hardest question to ask. were inspired by so many different sounds new and old its really hard for us to pin point what our favorites are. we can be jamming rock and metal from any era 60s and on. we dont just stop at simiar music we love hip hop, rnb, pop music. the world is filled with sounds and we dont limit ourselves at all to what we listen to. theres so much music good and bad out there that we dont hesitate to listen to whatever comes along.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?  

Well i'm sorry i shouldve read all the questions! i would actually say our inspirations come from our daily lives. we write music to fit a feeling and then have our melodies and lyrics express that emotion. every experience we have had in our lives is brought to you through our music. that is one thing were are very firm with. if we didnt believe the words, we wouldnt say them. not all of our songs are literal either. we want every person to connect with us on their level of understanding which could in fact be the same way we feel. and everyone we come in contact with we aim to connect with because there is nothing better to inspire you than to have to someone respond to you, your feelings or your situation. a war within comes from all of us. it unifies us. it makes us all stronger, better and happier together.

6. Where was your last gig?

We actually have only been a band for a few months. we have not played any shows yet. it might be a bit reckless but we feel that theres nothing we want more than to see the world. as much as we want to play all the local venues we know that we have a lot of fans in other markets. we feel that theres no better way to connect with anyone than to do it face to face and we know everyone is getting restless to see us. we have a tour lined up already later this year and are in talks with more for the following year. were working hard to make sure that all of this happens.

7. Where would you like to play?  

I´m a bit confused by what you mean with this question. ill take a guess at it. our goal is to be successful enough to make it to the other have of the world. Japan, Indonesia, Austrailia. we have a good handful of friends there already so were extremely pumped. we also have an even larger amount in western europe and in south and central america. i think that helps that half our band is of hispanic decent so its easy for us to connect with our spanish speaking fans.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?  

I would assume you mean that who would we love to play shows with? we love to play and make music so much we dont have any care of who we go out with. if it was a perfect world i think wed go back in time and tour with bands like kiss or the who or motley crue. in the present we would love to go with any band that kicks ass. BMTH ADTR OMAM SWS, any band that has an acronym lol. we would even love to tour with the foo fighters, Rihanna, Jay-z, justin timberlake, the kilers, katy perry, nicki minaj you get the idea no?  music was much more appreciated back them because people had to wait for a band to come to town. the internet is a glorious tool for reaching people from all over the world but not very good for connecting. so no matter who we play with we would enjoy the hell out of it.

9. Whom not?  

There´s probably some groups we wouldn't fit with just because their fans wouldnt like us. we always willing to destroy any show we play and even though thatll happen sometimes theres just some people who just dont like your music. thats cool with us we appreciate the love we get in any fashion!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I´m sure at some point we all suffered from fear and anxiety on stage. when you really think about it it can be overwhelming having thousands of eyes, maybe even only the right pair staring at you. the key for defeating it? we would suggest step one practice. practice all the time. practice together and by yourself. practice every aspect that you can. how you look, how you feel, how you play, anything and everything you can practice, prepare for it. the stage is the most unpredictable thing on the planet. tech issues and unfortunate accidents, rowdy fans and just plain old bad days can get to you. the only thing you can do is be prepared as possible.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

I feel like weve covered this in a few previous questions.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

That would depend on what you consider weird. Most of the time everyone just wants to hang out. everyone in this band will be by the merch booth as much as possible on tour, at shows. we love meeting you, yes you. we love to hang out. some of us are a bit shy and some of us are obnoxious but either way if you are down to party and have a good time well be there. other fans ask for things to be signed, weirdest is probably phones or clothing, or their children, or parts of their bodies. fans always want something of yours. a pick, drumstick, time, attention, no matter what it is, if we have it to give we will give it until we have nothing left. there is nothing in this world we would like to do other than playing and making music. we know that without people to listen and care then you are just doing it for yourself.

I love your site. just keep grinding away and getting peoples attention. im sure its just like having a band. i didnt see any video interviews but if you can get those rolling you should!
