Anchored At Sea - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Metal/Metalcore band Anchored At Sea from USA, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?  

The band name..Well when Tyler joined the band, he also brought with him the name "Anchored At Sea." We all liked it and so we used it. Later on, Tyler decided to inform us that for some reason or another, he had an online dating app on his droid. A girl that messaged him on that app had the username "Anchored At Sea," and that's where it came from. Had we known that we still probably would have used the name.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

People listen to this kind of music for many reasons. This kind of music has a lot of meaning. It is way more meaningful than "today's hits" on the radio. We all grew up listening to metal. We love the message that can be sent with this kind of music.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?  

Three of us knew each other. Ben, Derek, and Tyler. Ben actually played in a pop punk band that played at a talent show. After the show, a man walked up to him and told him to message Cain Morgan on Facebook. He messaged him and with Cain came Michael. Then they picked up Derek as a second guitarist and about a year later, Ben remembered Tyler who he went to high school with used to do vocal covers. They picked up Tyler and formed Anchored At Sea.

4. Each band member favourite band?  

Derek's would have to be The Color Morale. Tyler's is without a doubt Sworn In. Ben's is probably One Year Later. Cain's is Lionfight. Michael's is definitely A Day To Remember.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?  

What inspires us to write songs is the thought one day doing this for a living. We push each other and try to inspire and better each other.

6. Where was your last gig?  

Our last show was in Bledsoe County, TN. It was at a fair. Not the most interactive show we've ever had, but we gained some fans so it was worth it.

7. Where would you like to act?  

Anywhere that would have us!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?  

Nicki Minaj or The Backstreet Boys.

9. Whom not?

Nicki Minaj. I lied about that one.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

We all had stage fright when we first started out. We were constantly playing, though, which kind of forced us all to get over it. It's not easy to get over it. It's scary. You're playing your music in front of judging people who will talk to their friends afterwards about you being good or bad. We have always had people come tell us how good of a job we did afterwards, though, and that really helped. We've also realized that people want to see you succeed. Once you realize that, you quit having stage fright and just focus on playing your set and having fun with it.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

They're have been so many bands that we have been inspired by that it'd be impossible to pick. Different bands have inspired different people in the band with the way they do their job. That being said, everyone in the band writes vocals a certain way or writes guitar riffs a certain way. Then we just put it all together.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

We actually don't have any weird fan questions yet. We're still in the early stages and we're still gaining new fans. We're actually really looking forward to having some weird things asked by fans.

13. What do you think of your fans?  

The fans that we have are awesome! They've all been so supportive and we've gotten nothing but good feedback from them! They mean the absolute world to us and every positive comment we get from them means so much to us.

14. What do you think of our site?  

Your site is rad! I actually went through and read a ton of your interviews a couple days ago! Keep it up! It means a lot to us that you wanted to do an interview with us!
