As Mercy Comes - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Melodic Metalcore band As Mercy Comes from Italy, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
With "Mercy" we refer to something like "taking part to the others' pain": our lyrics always try to explain the suffering that every person goes through everyday while moving to a sort of "spiritual growing".
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
We consider "hardcore" a way of living and thinking: humility, fraternity and attitude as life's strongholds. It gives us inspiration and a lot of emotions.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Some of us already knew each other before, but we've always been part of our local hardcore/metalcore scene.
4. Each band member favourite band?
There's not the "perfect answer" to this question: each one of us is influenced by a lot of musical genres. However our vocalist, Yuri, is just in love with Hundredth (and You can notice it by listening to some of the songs in "Prison"). Stefano and Ennio prefers Bring Me The Horizon. Vincenzo doesn't like a band in particular but has a great esteem for the italian deathcore band called "Despite Exile". Danilo obviously loves August Burns Red.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
The entire writing of "Prison" (that will be soon published by This Is Core!) is focused on the human soul and how it reacts against life changes and pain. There's a piece of everyone in every single track.
6. Where was your last gig?
It has been a year full of dates throughout Italy: from North to South, with a lot of great bands. However a week ago we decided to take part of a great event with two other local bands: A Shattered Memory and A Great Milkshake, close friends we grew up with. Hundreds of people, a beach, a stage and a lot of violent dancing.
7. Where would you like to act?
We'd just love to express our music and our emotions to everyone that wants to hear and feel them with us. It's not about the target: it's about the journey.
8. Whom would you like to feature with? Whom not?
To be honest, we're not interested yet to a featuring with other artists, especially with famous ones. We're on our way to truly define our sound and our style and it would be an error to let others change it in this phase.
9. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
When we move on the stage we can not feel anything but adrenalin. Basically none of us ever suffered from anxieties because our only thought is to play and have fun doing it. This is our advice: always consider your music the perfect and probably the only way you have to express yourself, so do It as the most natural thing you could ever do.
10. What bands have inspired you the most?
We can consider Parkway Drive and August Burns Red our main source of inspiration, but we always put a great effort to build our sound and style in every song we write, taking advantage of our different musical influences and of our vocalist's versatility.
11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
We just can't figure why, but every time we move to a gig it always ends with both of our guitarists being asked to twerk. People are sick!
12. What do you think of your fans?
It goes without saying that they are the main and probably the most important thing in our musical life. To see them sing your lyrics, enjoy your music or simply love you as the persons you are It's just awesome.
13. What do you think of our site?
It's awesome, guys! Keep up the great work, our scene needs people like you!
