Follow The Wolf - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Post-Hardcore/Metalcore band Follow The Wolf from UK, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, did you plan it or did it just come out like that?
We actually started out with a different name, and (during a game of pool, we decided to change our name. We had a game to decide whether to change to Follow The Wolf, and it won! It just came out as a random suggestion, but it stuck!
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
I think we all liked the idea of doing something both heavy and melodic, and we’re all huge fans of bands that are doing that right now. Our collective tastes cover quite a wide range, which comes in handy with the style we’re going for.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Shaun, Liam and Danneh were already in a band at college. Shaun then met Grom, Barry, and finally Ben joined…and here we are!
4. Each band member favourite band?
Ohh that’s a very hard question, but at this current time:
Shaun – Memphis May Fire
Liam – Alexisonfire
Ben – August Burns Red
Grom – Killswitch Engage
Barry – Foo Fighters
Danneh – Machine Head
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
We all love playing live music, and creating songs that represent our tastes. When it comes to lyrics, both good and bad things in our lives: Relationships, work and life in general. With all those things combined, the feeling when a crowd gets into your show is just incredible. We're all pretty huge video game fans too so there may be a little of that in there too…
6. Where was your last gig?
We’ve only just started looking for gigs, so we’re kind of fresh out the packet!
7. Where would you like to play?
We’d love to get on the festival circuit. Slam Dunk, Reading & Leeds, and ultimately Download!
8. Who would you like to feature with?
A Day To Remember definitely, but I guess any of the awesome bands that are around in this genre right now!
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Yeah, I think there’s also a mixture of excitement and nerves but it’s healthy. If you’re well rehearsed and confident together as band, you’ll be able to get over it and just enjoy yourself.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Our tastes cover a lot of genres, from Pop-Punk all the way through to Death Metal! I think we’re all quite inspired by bands that push the boundaries between genres and create something unique - A Day To Remember definitely being a big inspiration. With the newer songs we’re writing, we want to incorporate more diverse and heavier elements, along the lines of Periphery and August Burns Red, for example.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
One of our members was once approached by a fan, who then deliberately dropped skittles into her bra, and then invited him to pick them out!
13. What do you think of your fans?
We’re really happy with how supportive they’ve been. Our song has already racked up plenty of plays and downloads. We can’t wait to have to more to show them, and hopefully they’ll be as exited as we are!
14. What do you think of our site?
We think it’s great that you’ve put together a blog to draw attention to upcoming acts. Keep it up!
15. Something to add?
Download ‘Stay As A Memory’ from our Bandcamp site and keep your eyes peeled for more music and updates coming soon!
