Hybrid Circle - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Djent/Progressive Metal band Departure from USA, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
Hi guys, thank you so much for having us here! We are 6 guys with 6 totally different musical backgrounds, but we are also brothers. We live our days sharing every single aspect of our life and this is the magic formula that creates the perfect synergy between us. In this way we can find the great balance in our thousand of contaminations. We are Hybrid Circle: a band with a Hybrid product but close together like a Circle.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
I know that is too simple to give an answer like "hey, we play what we feel", but is something very near the absolute truth. As I said you in the previous question we like to mix all our contaminations and "A Matter of Faith" is the last result. I do not deny that something has been a bit designed from the beginning to sound better in the market, but not so much.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Well, we live in a very little city, so I know from a long time the big part of the band. The only exceptions are Alessandro (guitar) and Vittorio (drum). I knew them 5 years ago and when I saw them play I thought "what the hell! They must play with us!"
4. Each band member favourite band?
Dude, you took us in a real trouble with this question, but after some indecisions we did it! Simone: Deftones Giuseppe: Opeth Alessandro: Steven Wilson Antonio: Slipknot Vittorio: Tool Matteo: Pantera
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Personally I am a great reader. I love to read and so my imagination runs fast and is fervent. So I can say that my greatest source of inspiration are books and what it makes me imagine while I read and after I finished reading them. But in general the Hybrid Circle is a band of dreamers. We have continuously visions, hallucinations. Whatever it might give us an opportunity to create even a stone.
6. Where was your last gig?
For national gigs we've been in the north of Italy, for the internationals we've been in Ukraine.
7. Where would you like to act?
Oh, all around the world would be ok, don't you think like me? Touring is something special, something that for us is really next to be heaven. You can feel inside the thrills issued by the road, by the people, by the place, or by the crew that work with you. I would not change this with anything in the world.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
We would surely like to share the stage with bands like Opeth, Deftones, Meshuggah, At The Gates, Soilwork, obviously all our favourite bands and another list that arrives on Mars!
9. Whom not?
I have to say, honestly, that I do not have a band with which I do not want to share the stage. It is always a great experience because you know people, colleagues, other musicians. It's cool!
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
No, or not at all. It depens also on the stage. But the best way to leave at home all the fears is to prepare yourself in the best way. You have to try a lot, have a lot of practice with the band. Another good way to feel comfortable on stage is to plan the show, in such a way that you always know what you're doing, but never forget to put always your instinct on the stage. You go on the stage to enjoy that unique moment with the crowd. Here's how we do to put away the freight: this is a very very big party, let's play!
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Our latest listens were Deftones, Nevermore, Meshuggah, Tool, the Djent scene and a lot of electronic music.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Sex requests apart, we were in Mariupol (Ukraine) a couple of years ago and at some point there comes a guy who wanted autographs and to buy t-shirt and CD. After haveing done everything and even a small talk, the guy begins to ask: "Guys, what do you think about the oil situation in our Sea of Azov? But even in Italy the sea is completely invaded by oil spilled from the dozens of oil tankers involved in accidents? Here we don't know anything when accidents happen and we are very angry!". At that point I did not know what to say and then I replied, "let's talk in front of a vodka so we understand each other better!". And we all ended up drunk.
13. What do you think of your fans?
They are really in love with us, and we love them back! We think that they're a really unique crowd because they always give us support, even if we're emerging right now. They support us in every single action.
14. What do you think of our site?
Finally a site that talks about all this kind of genre in a professional way! We like we a site is always up-to-date because it means that inside there are real working people. I think you're one of the most important and authoritative reference point for this genre.
15. Something to add?
We need support, guys. We're out with the brand new album "A Matter of Faith" and it is completely free. Your support is the base for everything we want to do, follow us, share us and talk about us in every possible way. Thanks to everyone and a special thank goes to this magazine that gave us the possibility to be here! You can find "A Matter of Faith" for free at http://hybridcircle.bandcamp.com Stay Hybrid!
