My Dear Dilemma - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Post-Hardcore band My Dear Dilemma from Canada, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?    

The name really came from shooting out ideas over a band name & then it just sort of stuck with us. The best explanation I can give our band name is that it represents love hate relationships because we all write music with a purpose to have a voice whether it’s good, bad or random.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?  

Playing our genre of music stems from a love we all have for hardcore. During the early stages of all our music journeys it was the dominant sound that really caught all our attention, mind you we all enjoy different genres & styles, but we all bring it to this because it’s what we love.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Oddly enough I think everyone in the band knew of each other from just being around the local scene and other mutual friends, but never really bonded until we played music together. Ian and Eddie went to high school together and same with Martin and Jarred, but everyone was doing their own thing at the time.

4. Each band member favourite band?  

Everyone varies as far as musical taste goes only because everyone in this band is open to all different genres. You’ll get answers from Counterparts, Stray From The Path to Krewella and New Found Glory.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?  

Everyone has their own reasons to write music, but I think the biggest thing that inspires us to write music is that in every song there’s a voice and a story to be heard/told. In a 20 minute set you can tell a lifetime of stories.

6. Where was your last gig?

In our hometown for the release of our EP “Cataract.”

7. Where would you like to act?  

Everywhere, it’s always amazing going to a new place you’ve never been to and doing what you love.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?  

Anyone that we have looked up to or has been an inspiration to us would be an amazing experience. In other words book us with Weezy and Avenged Sevenfold!

9.Whom not?  

I won’t say there is someone we wouldn’t want to play with because with our ridiculous listening we’ll probably love anyone we wind up playing with.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

Best advice I can give people with stage fright is to remember that the people are there to watch you perform. No one knows you made a mistake unless you tell them and when you’re on stage do it for yourself, remember that this is your dream and this should be just as great for you as to any audience.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

Basically anything we grew up listening to such as bands like: Silverstein, AFI, Alexisonfire, Slipknot, Blink-182, Billy Talent, Avenged Sevenfold, From First To Last, the list could go on forever.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?    

Besides sex, probably getting asked to play a 13 year old birthday party & strangers offering us sketchy drinks. We find ourselves in some weird situations & we have no idea why?

13. What do you think of your fans?  

Love them all and appreciate every single person who takes a second to listen to our music, buy merchandise, even say anything and let us know what they think.
