Tongues - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Hardcore/Punk band Tongues from Italy, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?    

Nothing planned, we were thinking about some names for the band and this was the one we liked the most.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?  

If you're talking about hardcore/punk music then it's because all of us have some roots in it in different ways. But I guess this is also one of he reason why we want to move over it, trying to get a more personal identity.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Our drummer Luca was the only one "unknown" to us. Me, Pietro and Alessandro were already friends.

4. Each band member favourite band?  

Don't know mine, don't know theirs.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?  

I guess that being a young kid listening to punk rock all day does the trick. Like other street cultures it's something that incite you to start make something on your own either with music, politics, street arts, sports or everything else. I decided to pick up a guitar.

6. Where was your last gig?

During last months we have been busy writing songs and recording our new album so I really don't remember where our last gig was. maybe it was near by our hometown Milan.

7. Where would you like to act?  

Your house.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?  

Elvis Costello.

9. Whom not?  

EVERY nu-metal act.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

I don't know if the other guys in the band suffered or not. Personally I don't remember any particular situation of fear or apprehension, just normal excitement. How to beat stage fright? Don't know. Try think that you're doing something that the 70% - 80% of the crowd can't do. If you realize you can't do it too try think that you didn't pay to watch other bands show.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

I really can't name a few bands in particular. We're inspired by many different kind of bands. Punk bands of course but we're also into garage rock, blues, grunge, surf, some metal, post rock. You name it.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?    

He wasn't a fan but right after our set this guy told us something like "i just love your SLUDGE sound! you guys are so SLUDGE!". That was fun.

13. What do you think of your fans?  

We don't have fans in a "fanatic" way but I guess there's someone out there that likes our music. That's cool, we like our music too.

14. What do you think of our site?

I think it's cool. I don't know even just one band you talk about on your site and this is funny.

15. Something to add?  

You made the same questions to thousand of bands. This is sad but such is life. Thanks, Simone
