Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Metalcore band Ursa Minor from USA, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Kale actually started the band that this all kind of transformed into in high school. He was playing with a few other high school friends at the time and one of them happened to be fascinated with astrology and suggested the name. It was one of those deals where we thought it sounded really cool and it just stuck. There was really no meaning behind it. So much has changed with our band now but we have still decided to hang on to it.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We have all been into the heavier style of music since middle school and gone through a lot of different phases. Our new record we just released last week titled "The Perfect Sin" was heavily written based on our live show. We are all about making our show a production and we want our performance to reflect our music. Obviously we also write our music to fit our personal tastes and just because it is also fun to perform.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Kale and Clay grew up together and went through the same school system. They have been playing music together since middle school. Joey and Nick both grew up in different areas of Lafayette but we all became friends through other local bands that we played in.

4. Each band member favourite band?

I honestly don't think any of us could name a single favorite band. We all listen to so many styles of music. How about we just name off some of our favorites as a group!  Lately we have been jamming Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, Modest Mouse, PVRIS, Kid Rock, P.O.D., Pearl Jam, Whitechapel, and King 810 just to name a few. We have quite the variety going lately.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I think we were all initially inspired by the bands that we look up to. Now that we have an EP and our new record out, we are inspired to keep on pushing the boundaries and write new music that we are satisfied with and that we hope our listeners will enjoy.

6. Where was your last gig?

We just released our new record last weekend in our hometown on Friday and in Indianapolis at The Hoosier Dome on Saturday.

7. Where would you like to act?

We have plans to hit the road this winter for our first time. There are so many places we would love to take our music. One place that we are really looking forward to playing in the future is New York. We've just always wanted to travel there.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

There are so many big artists we could name for this one but we would love to tour with a lot of our local friends. The Weight of Us and Crunkasaurus Rex are two insanely good bands. It would also be sweet to tour with our Ohio dudes in All My Friends Are Dead and Hail to the King.

9. Whom not?

There's not really a certain band/group per say that we would not want to tour with. We just want to travel with good people, that's all.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

We seem to get nervous whenever we do something new. For example we were nervous for our release show last week. We had been practicing and playing the new music for months but that first show playing it live was obviously new to us. The very next night we played another show and we were fine. It is something that we are still learning to deal with in new environments and situations. It's just something that most people need to actually experience enough to learn how they can handle it and or overcome it over time. Everyone is different.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

This is another one where we could almost write a seemingly endless list. To name a few is difficult. Definitely The Devil Wears Prada and August Burns Red have been huge inspirations for our writing. Whitechapel, Fit For A King, and Sworn In have also been influential to our sound.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Our vocalist Joey is very well known for his outgoing personality and his lively character. Some of our listeners may not know unless they have seen us live that Joey has a prosthetic leg. It is always a great conversation piece and Joey likes to have a lot of fun with it. One thing he has started recently at shows is offering people who are willing to contribute to our tip jar to be able to carry around his leg while we are not performing. Almost every show now we have multiple people ask if they can have his leg to carry around or simply just ask the story behind it.

13. What do you think of your fans?

When we started this band, we never thought we would have had some of the opportunities we have already experienced. None of what we have accomplished would have ever been as meaningful or successful without the support that we have from our friends, family, and the growing community that we are reaching. We are still a small local band and it has been so awesome getting to meet and get to know so many people that enjoy and support what we do. That is why we continue to be a band and strive to grow.

14. What do you think of our site?

Breathing The Core is an awesome website! This is a great place to look and find new artists as well as check out interviews from all of your favorite bands. It provides listeners with a cool way of getting to know the bands they listen to as well as link them to sites where they can purchase the music from the artist. This is a page we wish we would have known about sooner. There is lot of awesome content here.

15. Something to add?

Thank you Breathing The Core for chatting with us. Again, huge thanks to all of our fans, listeners, followers, friends, and family. Without you all, we would be nothing. If you haven't already, be sure to follow the links and check out our brand new record called "The Perfect Sin."  Hit us up on Facebook as well! We love talking!
