Alchemist - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Melodic Hardcore band Alchemist from New Zealand, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?  

Dil: 2 years ago, I lost a cat. Her name was Kimbra. I mourned her for a month, until one day, she was brought back by a mysterious old Chinese man. I thanked him, and he just looked at me with the pleased smile of an enlightened man, I asked "what ever could I do to repay you" he lost his smile as he replied with a heavy accent and a tone of utter seriousness "Start a band, you must. Name it... Alchemist."

2.Why did you want to play this genre?  

Jin:  I ran over a cat and decided I needed something in my life to change Dil: The energy. It's in the live show.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Jin: Yes I ran over Dil's cat

Grant:  Dil and I are cousins, but I didn't know the other 2 until we started the band.

Dil: There is one fact out of all the above statements.

Michael: Found Dil by fate, Jin & Grant were a package deal with Dil. A good package.... Package...

4. Each band member favourite band?  

Jin: Letlive or Slipknot

Grant: Fall Out Boy

Michael: Babymetal

Dil: Nirvana, or maybe One Direction.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?  

Dil: Everything & anything, the world is basically an unwritten song. Lately I've enjoyed writing stuff about chasing your passion, or trying to figure out how the world works, because that's pretty relevant to where we are at.

Jin: Shitty times.

6. Where was your last gig?

Australia. Next gig is West Auckland, October 17th

7. Where would you like to act?

Jin: Korea, japan or usa would be amazing.

Dil: I would like to do Europe or Asia, out of a smelly tour bus.

Michael: In Dil's bedroom, I love Dil. He's great.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?  

Dil: Celine Dion, Savage Garden or Radiohead, so I could thank them for being my earliest influences.

9. Whom not?  

Jin: Epoché (Mike & Dil's acoustic project)

Dil: NSH (Jin & Grant's acoustic project)

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

Jin: Go crazy. Lose yourself in what you do.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

Jin: Slipknot, Letlive

Dil: Johnny Cash, Bring Me The Horizon & Enter Shikari have definitely been a solid inspiration for my writing.

Michael: Dil inspires me.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

Dil: My t-shirt. After the show. Covered in sweat. Each to their own I s'pose. Im actually wearing the one I swapped her for right now. Jin: An autograph on my nipple. Dil: Men don't have nipples.

13. What do you think of your fans?  

Jin: Good music taste

Dil: They're open-minded, beautiful, patient & important.

14. What do you think of our site?  

Jin: Choice mate, sexy.

Dil: It's fantastic. Anything that promotes Alternative music takes a lot of dedication, so we thank you for that.
