Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Metalcore/Deathcore band Amaterasu from Australia, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The band name? I had it planned for some time. We formed this band in early 2013 after our previous bands had ended. The first challenge was creating new music, so we did not bother with the name for some time. Song names started to emerge and thus a band name was needed. I suggested the name to my band mates and we all agreed.  The name itself has many meanings.  what is amaterasu?  A·ma·te·ra·su

1.central deity of Shinto; goddess personifying the sun and ancestress of the rulers of Japan

2.the light amongst the darkness

3.An eternal burning black flame that can only be extinguished by its user.  The name was both inspired by the anime series naruto and a line in one of Dallas Greens (city and colour) songs: two coins: “I’ve always been dark with light somewhere in the distance”. My life has gone along this same theme so I decided to put that aspect into my band.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Why I personally play this Genre is because of the emotions metal displays. Weather it being anger, sadness, joy. Anything! I think metal harnesses these feelings with it’s powerful music.  And I simply wanted to do the same.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We all knew each other from one place or another. Some of us were previously in the same bands together or knew each other from our local music scene.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Michael: Bleeding Through

Pete: Breakdown Of Sanity

Dan: killswitch engage

Luke: Upon a burning Body

Jake: The Beatles

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

My idols, Brandan Schieppati of Bleeding Through, Axl Rose of G’N’R, Dallas Green of city and colour. The tv shows and movies I watch. The people that enter and leave my life. The world and all of its beauty and issues. The struggles that I and everyone else I know have endured. Everything inspires me.

6. Where was your last gig?

September 27th at the Underground. Adelaide.

7. Where would you like to act?

I would love to perform at either an American or European metal festival. Or japan. Anywhere in japan.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Currently I would love to feature with any of the Australian bands that are absolutely killing it! Bands such as Thy art is Murder, Make them suffer, Boris the Blade, Parkway drive, The amity affliction etc.

9. Whom not?

There is honestly no one who we would not want to feature with. Being in a band (that’s new), you cannot afford to be choosy.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Long time sufferer of anxiety right here. Kills me every time! In my last bands I used to have a few drinks to calm the nerves. Now I don’t drink or use my anxiety medication. So what I do is I just imagine that I am at band prac or I am playing to friends that have seen us hundreds of times. It helps a little bit. Once I see the crowds response to the first song it usually calms me down.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Other than the ones I have above mentioned, every band I have ever played with has inspired me to play and write more music.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing yet as we are not up to that level haha. Everytime I play a show SOMEONE always shouts “show us ya dick”.

13. What do you think of your fans?

What ever fans we currently have are our friends and family. So we love them all.

14. What do you think of our site?

The site is great for people searching for new bands or old bands. More bands should be featured on this page but I am sure that will all happen in due time.

15. Something to add?

Support your local and international music scene!
