Billion Dollar Man - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Metalcore band Billion Dollar Man from Sweden, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
The name came from nowhere, we just thought it sounded pretty cool and kind of unique for a metal band. So that's why we chose that name.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
Because we like this kind of music and it is what comes naturally when we write our music. We're going a lot on the feeling we get from the music we write. Another thing we like about this genre is that it is so wide.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Yes I think we all kind of knew each other, at least a little bit. You see we come from a pretty small town in Sweden where it almost feels like everyone know each other. So yes, I would say we knew each other before we started this band.
4. Each band member favourite band?
"Favorite band" is always hard to say. But if we have to choose only one band that we are listening to right now, then:
Oscar - Thy art Is Murder
Ludde - Periphery
Viktor - Texas in July
Dennis - Bullet for my Valentine
Siros - Monuments
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
We get our inspiration from almost everything and everyone, it could be other bands that we like to listen to or it could just be a feeling we get when we rehearsal. We get inspiration from all kinds of music as well, not just the bands that we like. Our drummer Siros gets a lot of his ideas and thoughts from jazz music for an example, and i know that Viktor who plays guitar are listening a lot to Pink Floyd. So we are really taking impressions and inspiration from everywhere.
6. Where was your last gig?
The last gig we did was on a local underground bar called "Slug Pit" here in Skövde, and that was probably the most awesome gig we've done in a long time.
7. Where would you like to act?
All over the world! Haha… But I think that the realistic answer on that question would be at least Europe. But it would be sick to go to the US someday.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
That's a really hard question, I mean there’s so many great musicians out there. But I think we all would agree on having CJ from Thy Art Is Murder on one of our songs, that guy is a fucking beast.
9. Whom not?
No, I don't think there’s anyone we wouldn't want to work with.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Yes, our singer Oscar was really nervous before the first gigs we did with him as our lead vocalist (from the start he played guitar). The best tip on how to get over your stage fright is to have confidence, you have to believe in yourself and you have to know that you can do it. And another important thing to remember is that no one has come to judge you, everyone is there to have a good time and to enjoy the show.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Oh there's so many bands that inspires us all the time, but Legend has inspired Oscar & Viktor a lot. Siros are very into a band called Monuments. Dennis have always been a big Bullet For My Valentine fan but he is also really into Molotov Solution and of course Thy Art Is Murder which we all take inspiration from.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
We haven't got any weird questions at all, not that we can remember at least. I guess we have been lucky so far.
13. What do you think of your fans?
We love our fans, our fans are probably the best fans there is! Nothing can be compared to the feeling you get when you're on stage and you really connect with the audience, and that feeling do we get from our fans when we perform.
14. What do you think of our site?
The site is great! There are so many sites around these days but what really makes a good site is that the people who runs it care for the bands and the music, and we get the feeling of that you guys really care.
15. Something to add?
Nothing else than that we are about to release our second EP called ”Ruins” very soon, hopefully in the end of october or early november so stay tuned for that and check out our last EP ”Betrayer” on spotify, youtube, soundcloud and all that stuff.
