Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Metallic Hardcore band Black Knives from France, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We were playing together in the past and wanted to start something new. We just thought about ideas of a name that meant something. Black Knives sounded good to us ... as simple as that !

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We are all the 5 into the underground scene for years and years now. It's just the way we play when we plug our guitars on ! I mean we all listen to tons of different bands and different styles of music but when it comes to play all together this is the kind of vibes that makes us feel alive. We love when there is that big heavy sound!!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yeah, as I said before we used to play together in another band called 8Control. We toured a lot in Europe but the line up changed quite a lot over the years. We wanted to start something new, slightly different but keeping that friendship we have together. So we talked together and decided to bury 8Control to move forward to another project. The music is a little bit different but keeps that heaviness we love.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Well, it's quite hard to answer to that. Let's say that Eric is a lot into Hatebreed, Lionheart, Terror but also hip hop stuff. Let's say we have a wide range of musical influence as we love listening to a lot of bands and going to a lot of shows and parties. If you need some name of bands we like let's say, in no particular order, Bad Rabbits, Poison The Well, Aphex Twin, Dillinger Escape Plan, Nofx, Northlane, Achitects, Messhugah, Periphery, Every Time I Die, Birds In Row, Paul Kalkbrenner, Parkway Drive, The Ghost Inside, The Shoes, Darkest Hour, Foo Fighters, Queens Of The Stoneage, The Black Keys, The Hives, Coka Nostra, Gojira, Boys Noize and much much more!

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We try to focus on life, society problems and so on ... but not too much! It really depends but mainly we are talking about being together, as a group, not feeling alone in this world and being part of the underdogs. This is the essence of the underground scene which we are part of. It's really important because, as we were kids, such lyrics got really a meaning and an influence on us. Talking for myself, I discovered the hardcore scene circa 96 or 97, when Refused released their EP "Everlasting" and also with Youth Of Today. 2 bands that had a strong and powerful message!  Our first video is for the track "Take The Best" which talks about being a lifer, always taking life on the good side and leaving uninteresting thing, people judgement and so on on the orther side.

6. Where was your last gig?

The last one was in France, at a festival called Xtreme Fest. We've had the opportunty to play the same stage as Convege, NoFx, Sick Of It All and Gojira ! That was awesome and we've had an incredible response from the audience. Legendary bands such as Raised Fist, Lagwagon and Biohazard were also on the bill. That was kind of show we'll remember !

7. Where would you like to act?

Basically every where ! USA is kind of dream for an Euro band but we've got an amazing continent in here ! Germany, Sweden, UK, ... there are a lot fo countries to visit. We are at the moment thinking about touring in Indonesia as the scene out there is getting bigger and bigger and people are really passionate. Australia would also be inceredible ! The other side of the world you know ...  We talked with Suicidal Tendencies manager a few months ago and he told us a funny sentence: "No matter where you play, a full room is a full room". And that's true ! We've played small cities where the audience was crazy, stagediving and singing along ! That is the most inmportant for us, people having fun at shows. This is the reason we play this music.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

You mean getting a featuring on a track ? Mmmmhhhh ... Scott Vogel of Terror maybe! We love that guy and his commitment for the scene for decades now. About touring we would love to tour with Lionheart, their brand new EP is awesome, they've got that good vibe we like.

9. Whom not?

Sooooo many! Let's say Nickelback looool!!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Not really 'frigthen' when we go onstage. We are really "hungry", we want to have fun with people of the venues and we are more excited than frighten. We stay all the 5 together before the show, doing jokes, trying to relax and stuff. Some of us are listening to heavy powerful music in their headphones. The show actually starts like 20 minutes before, off stage, as we are 200% focused on it !

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

It's nearly impossible to answer to that question for the whole band, as we've all our own musical history. But we love every kind of band that got a great presence on stage, this is really that we love, to entertain people.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

In Belgium during a show we played with CDC, a guy stopped the show, went onstage and asked his girlfriend for wedding! That was incredible! Maybe that is one of the weirdest experience we've had.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our audience is really close to us ... we are all the same and I think we all share the same values and the same passion for the underground scene. This is cliché, but this is really a family for us, without whom we couldn't play shows and travelling around. We are very gratefull.

14. What do you think of our site?

It's alway good to see people involved in keeping the scene alive, cariing the torch! Keep up the good work and help people discover new bands. We all went into this scene thanks to someone else.

15. Something to add?

Thanks a lot for the interview. This is the first time for us we answer an interview for american people ! Thanks a lot to Jason at Innerstrength Records for putting out "The Thirteenth Hour" on USA / Canada and UK ! This means a lot to us.
