Diceros - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Metalcore band Diceros from USA, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE, and check their website. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
The name, Diceros, is a part of the root word for Black Rhino. We figured Rhino’s are big, heavy, imposing creatures and that is very representative of our sound.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
We all are huge fans of heavy music ranging from old school thrash, metalcore and to the newer Djent and deathcore sounds. We also attempt to be melodic so we wanted to combine our different styles into one crushing blend of metalcore.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Jay, J.R. and I had known each other from previous bands. J.R. briefly jammed with me in my old band, Stonehed. J.R. knew Jay through other previous bands. Our new vocalist Chris, we knew through mutual friends and he introduced us to his cousin, Jake, who is now our official bass player.
4. Each band member favourite band?
Ryan - Between the Buried and Me
J.R. - Lamb of God Chris - Suicide Silence
Jay - In Flames Jake - Foo Fighters
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
We write songs based on life events. Our previous singer, Kevin wrote the lyrics for our songs off our first EP, The Offering. Chris wrote all the lyrics for Tragedy and the new other songs we will be releasing very soon.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last gig was at Broadway Joe’s with Fit For An Autopsy, in our hometown, Buffalo, NY. That show was a blast! Other Buffalo locals, Vitalist and Contempt Creates a Killer joined us and made it a crazy night!
7. Where would you like to act?
We keep most of our shows in the Western New York region, although there are plenty of big metal fests in neighboring states we may check out.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
We will play with anybody heavy. We just want to have a good time with other people who enjoy heavy music! However, if Lamb of God or Between the Buried and Me came to town, we’d be all over that!
9. Whom not?
We would jam with just about anybody.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
I’m sure we all have at some point. For me it’s before a show, once I’m on stage that all goes away. Tips for beginners, have all your gear prepared and in good working order before you get on stage. It’s incredibly nerve wracking to have equipment issues in the middle of a show.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
The growing Buffalo metal scene inspires us to keep going. There is some great talent in the area that push us to write heavier, faster and catchier material.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Nothing too weird. We usually just get asked for hugs. Can’t turn down a hug!
13. What do you think of your fans?
We love our fans, they’re super supportive! We get into it that much harder when we look out and see them killing each other or head banging!
14. What do you think of our site?
The BTC site is pretty sweet. We appreciate you featuring us on it and it looks like a nice way to find some new heavy music!
15. Something to add?
Our latest studio recordings came out totally killer, we couldn’t be any happier with them. Nick Borgosz at World of Noise Studios is an amazing sound engineer and definitely worth checking out.
