Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Post-Hardcore band Omaha from UK, sot here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Jake, our drummer, came up with the idea of the name ‘Omaha’, based on the beach from D-Day during the First World War. It was the name chosen when the band first started and we decided to stick with it.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Coming from a heavier background, and releasing our first EP in this genre, we decided that we wanted to try something a little different, trying to come out with a more unique sound and something that we could experiment with and ultimately have fun with. We feel that we have done that with our current sound, as we had a lot of fun writing and recording the EP, and we are very proud of the sound that the EP has. We find that the songs are very fun to play live and offer something for everyone.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

When the band was first formed in 2012, Jake didn’t know either Jack (vocals) or Ben (guitar), but Jack and Ben were old friends. When we started writing the new EP, a few line-up changes had taken place, leaving just the three of them. Arron (bass) was an old friend of Jack’s, and after previous bands disbanding, joined pretty soon into the writing process for the EP. Freddie (guitar) is the newest addition to the band, joining very recently. After talking with him for quite a few months regarding recording our new EP, we ended up going with him for mixing and mastering services. We asked him if he’d like to join us for a practice some time, and after a couple of great practices, he became the last piece of the puzzle.

4. Each band member’s favourite band?

Stating one band to be a favourite band is a very difficult task, but we all have certain bands that stand out. Arron’s favourite band would have to be Paramore. For Jack, he would say that You Me at Six is his favourite. A Day To Remember would be Freddie’s choice. As for Jake, his choice for favourite band would be Mallory Knox. Finally, Ben’s choice would be Architects. The variety of music that we listen to helps us to create the sound that we have with our most recent music.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Most of our songs start with a musical idea put forward by Ben. He is inspired by his love of writing and creating music, never short of new ideas. Inspired by music that we listen to and a general love of music, we work together to make ideas into full songs that we are all happy with and proud of. When it comes to lyrics, most of our lyrics are written based on life experiences that one or more of us have been through. Most lyrics are written by Jack, with other members helping out in certain areas.

6. Where was your last gig?

The last gig that we played was at The Shed in Leicester in the middle of August. It was a charity gig for Oxfam, with many different bands playing in support of the cause.

7. Where would you like to act?

We’re hoping to play as many shows as we can around the UK. We’re going on a week-long tour visiting places around the country, as well as a show in Swansea, Wales. We’re excited to visit as many places as possible, and hopefully play shows overseas eventually.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

There are a couple of great bands that we would like to play shows with. In terms of bigger bands, it would amazing if we were able to play with bands like Mallory Know and You Met At Six. Shows like that may be pretty far in the future though, and we’ll currently be up for playing with any kind of bands. There are a couple of bands that we’ve spoken to and are hoping to arrange shows with in the near future.

9. Whom not?

There aren’t really any bands that we wouldn’t want to play shows with. We’re happy to play with anyone and put on a good show!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Most of us experience small amounts of stage fright before going on, but when mixed with the excitement of playing, it generally doesn’t affect us badly. Once we’re all on stage, we forget about any worries and just do our best to have fun and put on a good show. For beginners, we’d say that once you start playing, it’s an absolutely great experience, so pushing through any initial worries is more than worth it, and the more shows you play, the easier it gets.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

We have a large amount of bands that have inspired our sound. There is a large spectrum of genres that we enjoy listening to and playing. Bands such as You Met At Six, Mallory Knox, Hands Like Houses, Emarosa, Paramore and many more inspire our most recent sound.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

As of yet, we haven’t really had any strange fan requests. Maybe some will come our way once our fan base begins to grow.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are really great! All of the support we receive helps us to continue on as a band and have fun doing it. Whether it’s a positive comment on new material, purchasing music or merch, or coming to a gig to show support, we appreciate it so much.

14. What do you think of our site?

Breathing the Core is a really great website posting some great bands. We’ve found some really good bands through the site, and really appreciate our music being posted there.
