Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Melodic Metalcore band Set Sights For South from USA, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Jay[bassist] had previously come up with the name. When we were all sitting down to discuss a band name, Jay brought up Set Sights For South and we all liked it.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Maro[screamer]: I wanted to play hardcore music because it is very emotional. My experiences in my past have led me to have emotions that I couldn't really let out in any other way.  Also, this music just kinda clicked with me.

Tyler[guitarist]: Ive been drawn to hardcore, metalcore spefically, because of the musical techinicality involved. There really isn't a limit on how heavy, or soft you can go paying this genre.

Griffin[drummer]: I just like how aggressive the music is compared to all other genres. I feel that this is the purist way to get through my personal aggression. Plus, I really like the way it sounds. When I pay melodic music, it just makes me happy haha.

Tommy[guitarist/clean vocalist]: I like the diversity in it, the heavy side and the emotional side. I handful of bands I was listening to semmed to be writing about things I can relate to.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We actually all knew Jay[bassist] in one way or another, but we all met each other through the band.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Maro[vocalist]: Architects UK

Tyler[guitarist]: Silverstein

Griffin[drummer]: For The Fallen Dreams

Tommy[Guitarist/clean vocalist]: For The Fallen Dreams

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Griffin: When drummers, like Nick Petterson from Northlane, add extra grooviness to their heavy drumming. I also listen to early jazz and I closely pay attention to the percussion of the time.

Tyler: My inspirations mainly come from bands that encorporate melody and technicality, such as Erra, Parkway Drive, and August Burns Red.

Maro: Lyrically, I'm inspired by a lot of spoken word artists. The main things that inspire me are just life experiences and perspectives of those experiences.

Tommy: Guitar-wise, I'm inspired by technical, heavy bands that can also bring in melody. Vocally, I get a lot of inspiration from Aarron Gillespie, from Underoath, and life experiences. The Classic Crime has also influenced my writing.

6. Where was your last gig?

Last Wednesday, We played at The House of Blues in Anaheim, California. It was such a rad experience!

7. Where would you like to act?

Maro: I would love to play the Sonisphere festival in Europe.

Tommy: My home town, Spokane, Washington

Griffin: Anywhere in Europe

Tyler: Tokyo, Japan

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Maro: Architects and Letlive

Griffin: For The Fallen Dreams

Tyler: Parkway Drive and Silverstein

Tommy: Sirens and Sailors, Erra, Secrets

9. Whom not?

There isn't anyone specifically that we wouldn't want to tour with.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Maro: I always have the worst nerves before we go on stage, but as soon as we start our set it all goes away. For beginners, the only advice I could give is don't care about how stupid you think you look or if you might get hurt, just get into what your playing or what you're saying and enjoy the moment. Keep in mind, a lot of the people in the crowd are there to see you, so you have nothing to worry about.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Answers above^^^

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Maro: At our last show, a girl asked me to sign her breasts haha.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are our friends and we appreciate any support we get.

14. What do you think of our site?

We think it is really cool that there is a site out there promoting smaller core bands. We really appreciate it.

15. Something to add?

We have an ep titled, "Life Support" coming out at the end of this year that you guys should be watching out for. We have shirts for those in the area(Southern California) and we will soon have an online store. Thanks for your interest in our band!
