2.Why did you want to play this genre?
Heavy/Hardcore music has always been a passion of mine. It's amazing how much emotion you can convey and feel with it.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
You could say that.
4. Each band member favourite band?
Hmm that's tough Id have to say my all time favorite band is Every Time I Die. You just can't go wrong with them. some others are, Norma Jean, He Is Legend, Brand New, Poison the Well.. I could go on for days.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Life experiences. A lot of what I write is past mistakes and how I struggle trying to rectify them. Relationships, all that same stuff most people do. I like to write about the frustration of dealing with certain things but also trying to remain positive while doing so.
6. Where was your last gig?
2006 with my old band Statelines at The Door in Dallas
7. Where would you like to act?
Anywhere, I miss playing live and with a band.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Oh man. Almost everyone I listed earlier hah.
9. Whom not?
I'm game for whatever.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
When I first started playing live my the band (statelines) we kinda jumped into a pretty booming scene. So a lot of our first shows had some pretty big ass crowds so there wasn't time to ease into it. I use to throw up or just be so high strung I would just keep my eyes closed the whole time. All I can say to help is go out there and have fun, fuck it, it's not worth it to tense up and not do everything you want to do because like me before you know it you might not get to do it again. Treat it like you are just at band practice and ignore the crowd have fun with your buds. That's it.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Poison the well is what got me into hardcore music. A friend of mine put it on a mix cd for me trying to broaden my horizon when it came to music. Then every time I die is a band that just flat out blew my mind cause I didn't know you could be heavy with all kinds of influences thrown in the mix. After that there was no going back haha
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
I've had a couple people ask me to introduce them to our drummer back when I was in the band. He was a midget. So yeah..
13. What do you think of your fans?
I think they are absolutely fantastic. With how many bands are out there for them to take their time to listen to the stuff I do is humbling. And the love and support I've received for Desolate has been nothing but amazing. Thank you to anyone who took the time to listen. It means the world to me.
14. What do you think of our site?
I think it's awesome you guys focus on the new fresh bands out there giving it their all not just the bigger names out there. I was blown away when I saw I was on here. I really appreciate it guys.
