The Intercedent - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Metalcore band The Intercedent from USA, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
We tried to find something that would represent us as a group and our music as an entity. We ended up settling on something that was really related to the lyrics, structure, and ideals of our first album. (Alex)
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
The amount of skill and knowledge it takes was one reason, another is that through this type of music it is very easy to express whatever emotion you want. Because our material is a hybrid of so many sub-genres we feel that it is complex, versatile, yet fun to write and play.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Forrest (Vocals) and Brady (Drums) are brothers, the rest of the members got in contact through the internet! Craigslist and Facebook are actually great avenues to find like-minded people these days.
4. Each band member favourite band?
The Contortionist, Trivium, As Blood Runs Black, and Rush!
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Something we feel passionate about or something that we know will tell a good story. We want to keep our lyrics and subject matter as interesting as the music behind it!
6. Where was your last gig?
A local bar in Bend, OR, Third Street Pub. They are super supportive towards local metal bands and are one of the only venues for less-known groups in the area.
7. Where would you like to act?
We are looking to increase our show size as our fanbase grows, wherever that puts us is more than we can ask for.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
It would be great to tour with a band like Intervals eventually, maybe even Trivium if we we got lucky enough! but really any like-minded group who likes to have fun and put on great shows.
9. Whom not?
We don't want any huge genre clashes, but seeing as we have such a versitile sound at this point, there are a lot of options for groups to play with.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Only experience will help you get over stage fright. If you have it, it is something you need to work to get rid of. It won't just go away, but playing live shows and being conscious about your stage presence it a good start. There is no right way to act on stage, just bve yourself with lots of energy. That's what people want to see.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Bullet For My Valentine was a huge inspiration for us when we first started out. Even though Trivium later inspired us to pull our sound in a different direction, BFMV was there keeping out heads screwed on right.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Probably this 60 year old woman, asking me if I wanted to come over to her place. I was a little to weirded out to know what to say.
13. What do you think of your fans?
They're fucking awesome!! They're supoortive, loud, and have even bought our band gear in tough times before. We love each and every one of them!!
14. What do you think of our site?
Your guy's site is killer, one thing I'd change is instead of providing links to the band's music and such, have maybe a music video/ song on there already, so it's easy listening for the listener/ viewer.
