The World To Come - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Progressive Deathcore band The World To Come from USA, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you planned it or came out just like that?
The band name came after our founders, Shane Griffin and the late Jeff Allaway were playing Assassins Creed and saw “the world to come” written on a wall and thought “that’s our band name!”. It was completely spur of the moment.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
There has been an influx of oversaturation in our scene, and we wanted to stand out. We decided that we all wanted to play music that we could be proud of as musicians but was still was punishing and devastating.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
We have all been in different bands in the past but also we were close friends and as time passed by it just made sense for us to be in a band together. The band is kind of one of those projects that formed from the ashes of past projects.
4. Each band member favorite band?
This is such a difficult question because we all listen to and love such a variety of different styles of music. But all-time favorites whys, it goes:
Shane – Linkin Park
Tim – Nine Inch Nails
Roger – Rush
Luis – Whitechapel
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
As a band we can all agree that we are heavily influenced by knowledge and how it is both celebrated and neglected. Most of our writing has to do with those subjects. Space is also a part of our sound and image that we love to incorporate. We love creating some of the same feelings we get when we look or talk about the universe and mythology in our atmospheric undertones. We love to make music in general and will always love that, but the fact that there are other people who like it and want to listen to what we create is the greatest inspiration of all.
6. Where was your last gig?
It was at a friend of ours venue called The Studio in Phoenix.
7. Where would you like to play live?
We love Europe and have a lot of fans from overseas, so overseas is definitely on the list, but so many of our favorite bands are from Australia, so the no. 1 place goes to there.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
One of our biggest inspirations is the band Aegaeon. It would be a dream come true to tour with them.
9. Whom not?
It’s hard to say who we wouldn’t because we are very open to anything, but definitely Miley Cyrus or Kanye West.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
We all get a little nervous before a show, but it’s only natural. If you don’t get that, then you are either a pro or in the wrong profession. It’s all about repetition. The more you do it, the better you’ll get. Take the nerves and turn that into fuel for your performance.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Aegaeon, Tesseract, Volumes, Bermuda, The Acacia Strain, Whitechapel, and literally hundreds of other bands. We are inspired by everyone we like or we hear that does something we think is creative and is doing something that we think we could apply to our music and sound.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
We haven’t really had any “weird requests, but we have had a fan from overseas ask us to send him a care package.
13. What do you think of your fans?
Our fans are incredible. Like we have said, we love to just make music, the fact that we have had such a following through the thick and thin is phenomenal. We do everything for them.
14. What do you think of our site?
We think this site is amazing and a great way to discover new music and up-and-coming artists. We are huge supporters of all sites and internet publicity that helps bands out in getting a name for themselves and exposure.
15. Something to add?
We would like to add that we seriously thank this site for having us and anyone who gets a chance to read this. We have new amazing and big things in the works! Keep an eye on us!
