Without A Hobby - Interview

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?   

The idea of the name came from when our best friend and band mate passed away. He was our vocalist and his name was Matt Hobby.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We play the genre because it just kinda went that way. Me (Andrew) and Bryant before when it was just us played Metallica and blink 182 and once Matt got in we advanced into heavier stuff.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Me(Andrew) and Bryant have known each other for 5 years and have been playing with each other ever since and the rest of the band has come in through the years as members left.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Andrew Harrison's: Metallica  Bryant

Jarvis's : Metallica  Nick

Andruzzi's: Rings of Saturn

Caleb Kennedy: Attila

Jonathan: Linkin Park

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

What inspires use to write songs is what's happening around us at the time. That goes for lyrics mostly. Sometimes we just sit together and just start jamming and something just comes together and we end up using it. Our song Their lies become truth was made one day for us all playing together in a room just going through different ideas.

6. Where was your last gig? 

Our last gig was opening up for Alesana at greenstreet on the chaos is a ladder tour.

7. Where would you like to act? 

We all would love to be able to play at warped tour or mayhem festival.

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

We would like be featured with bands like linken park, breakdown of sanity, bring me the horizon

9. Whom not? 

Blood on the dance floor.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

No one really suffers from stage fright. Yeah some get some nerves but i think it's more of we are excited to play. And tips would be to always play and don't stop. Any chance you get to be infront of people is the best way to get rid of it.

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

Bands that inspire use the most from each member would be Dream Theatre, Metallica, linken park, and Atilla

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

We haven't had much weird things happen. We are still getting into the music scene and all so not that I remember has anyone asked us something weird.

13. What do you think of your fans? 

We think of our fans has part of the band. They help us and encourage us and like everyone says, we wouldn't be making music with out people behind us.

14. What do you think of our site? 

I think the site is amazing. Giving small local bands the chance to get out there and have our voices heard, we need more people like that.

15. Something to add?

We play for God and we play to show that we can still rise up even through much tragedy and hurt. To not give up and stand up is our message.
