Into The Harbor - Interview

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

To be honest, we picked out a bunch of bands names, and tediously went through and picked the one that stuck the most. Why pick something that you don’t like, right?

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

It’s the music we have the most fun playing. It’s a great way to vent all the pent up emotions such as anger, hate, and frustration. It’s how we get through the day without killing someone haha.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We did not. Kyle and I (Todd) are brothers, so we obviously knew each other. But the rest of the band we met online, through mutual friends, and just our local music scene.

4. Each band member favourite band? 

Absolutely! Kyle’s favorite is Parkway Drive. Sam’s Favorite is The Acacia Strain. Todd’s favorite is Between the Buried and Me. Steve’s favorite is Suicide Silence, and Jimmy’s favorite is Ice Nine Kills.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Everything we go through each and every day. Like we said before, it’s a great way to let out our feelings!

6. Where was your last gig? 

The Montage Music Hall in Rochester, NY

7. Where would you like to act?

We’re willing to play anywhere, any time. We love to share our music with everyone, even if they don’t like it.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We would never turn down an opportunity to play with anyone, we’ve made a lot of great friends playing shows, and we don’t want to stop!

9. Whom not?

No one. We don’t like to limit ourselves to certain bands.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

We believe everyone has gotten a little nervous at one point or another. The best way to get over that is to have fun and not worry about what everyone else thinks.

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

As a band, we take a lot of influence from bands such as Parkway Drive, Thy Art is Murder, Fit for a King, Volumes (for the “djenty” stuff), Erra, and even some lighter bands like A Day to Remember and Chunk! No Captain Chunk!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We’ve been asked countless times to sign shirts, flyers, CDs and other merch items. It’s not weird to most known bands, but it is to us since we are not used to it and it is one of the greatest feelings in the world.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are of the major influences on what we do. While they support everything we put out, they also make us strive to do bigger and better things in the future.

14. What do you think of our site? 

BREATHING THE CORE is a great site for upcoming bands, as well as established bands, to get noticed by new fans around the world. They are doing what they can to help bands, like us, to achieve their dreams.

15. Something to add?

We are currently in the process of working on a full length which we are planning to release sometime next year. We recently released a live video for our latest single “Victim” through BlankTV, which can be found on YouTube.
