Interviews: Omega Diatribe
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Djent/Groove Metal band Omega Diatribe from Hungary, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
Akos: The only plan was we should get a f’in name quickly!(Haha..) The basic idea came from the Star Trek series. But we did not want to use such a unequivocal thing, so we changed one word in it. Unfortunately it was just words that have a good sounding, but no real meaning. So one crazy night I came up with a story that made it significant. Ever since OMEGA DIATRIBE is: There’s a secret ancient writing stem from an unknown alien civilization, a contract between Humans and Aliens about the use of the planet Earth. The government calls it „Omega Diatribe”. This contract says Humans could only use the Earth in a limited time. Overtime is not allowed. When our time is over they’ll come back and take us to a higher level planet. Only the open minded people could survive the transmission, 'cuz their mind can undergo the changes of the human body.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
Hajer: We always want to do some crazy things on music. Nowadays, the metal core scene is the most popular thing on the metal business, so we want to avoid it as far as we can. We wanted to experiment the groovy stuff with some crazy polyrhythmic elements and the result is what you can hear! :)
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Hajer: Yeah, Akos & Csosz is one of my best friends for a long-long time. We always dreamed to do a band together, so we living the dream right now. Hahh... :) When we search a singer, our good friend Tamas from Ektomorf come up with the idea of Geri (singer), and he totally fit for our music and our mentality. He's became a die-hard brotha through the years. Our newest member Tommy has joined the band in November, 2014. He's one of the nicest drummer guy I've ever know, so the current line-up is strong as hell!
Geri: I didn’t know anybody of them but now they are my 2nd family:)
4. Each band member favorite band?
Hajer: I mainly focusing to the 90's-early 2000's metal scene, but there's some awesome fresh blood too on the scene. Especially, I still listening the following bands: Slipknot, Meshuggah, Crowbar, Machine Head (old), KoRn (old), Soulfly (old)...
Akos: Same here… Nineties and my all time favorite is Tool, Meshuggah and Ott (from psychedelic scene).
Geri: I love the previous ones and like to listen chill-out and psychidelic music, in this genre my favourite is Shpongle, anytime, anywhere:D From metal bands: Korn, Coal Chamber and many more... and from other genre my all time favourite is Muse.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Hajer: Off course, I have some idols, but when I write some stuff it just comes from instinct. I think I'm a really music-minded person, so I thinking about new riff ideas all the time. I can't stop it... :) This is what I really enjoy to do, this is my life you know.
Akos: Mainly emotions that’s provoked by the world around me.
Geri: I am inspired by universe, thinking about alien civilizatios, Star Trek!! :D, trips and of course the people’s behavior around me.
