Sciamachy - Interview
Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Post-Metalcore band Sciamachy from Sweden, so here you can see and give a like to his FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
Finding a band name that corresponds well to the music is probably the biggest challenge you'll face as a new band and we spent a LOT of time trying to find the perfect match. We were playing around with the name "Shadows" as the music is our shadow, but when we found "Sciamachy" it sort of clicked with how we constantly fight with ourselves, both in the music we make and our personal lives.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
We have been quite genre open during the writing process. We really dont want to be another copy of any other metalcore band, we want to create whatever we feel like and, for now atleast, we seem to fit quite well in the metalcore genre.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
We are a mix of old and new friends. Johan and Savage played together earlier and Fors and Alex as well. Jonas still doesnt know anyone else.
4. Each band member favourite band?
Alex: The Contortionist
Johan: Anything with Tyler Carter
Jonas: It Prevails
Fors: Architects
Savage: Toto
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Basically anything that gets us thinking. A new sweet song, a stupid politician, a bird shitting on your head whatever. Just anything that gives you an emotion.
6. Where was your last gig?
The last gig we had was our release for the album in Stockholm. It was great playing in front of so many friends and getting a chance to show of what we have been working on for so long.
7. Where would you like to act?
We would really like to be able to put a pin in as many countries as possible on the map. I dont think we have a dream stage, even though Warped Tour would of course be a dream come true.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
It would be nice to have Architects open for us on wembley, but that wont probably happen until next year or something 9. Whom not? -Haha what a question. I dont know, anyone thats a dickhead I guess.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
If your not at least a little nervous before a gig, youre probably not doing it right. I think the nerves is what makes you good on stage. You need to care a bit about what youre doing. But of course, being paralyzed isnt a good idea... Then you probably need something to calm you down. A beer, a doughnut, a scream-off backstage or whatever. Everyone has their own idea on how to get them psyched, or perhaps cool down pre-show.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
From early ages Patrik Isaksson has been a big inspiration for us Swedes, but thats probably cause hes such a national treasure. In later ages Architects and Bring Me The Horizon has been really sweet to follow and see how you can continue to grow as a band from album to album.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
We havent had any crazy fans yet. I mean we get the basic questions to go out and take a beer but, so far nothing creepy.
13. What do you think of your fans?
We are quite blown away with the response we have been getting, and amazed that so many from all over the world has found our music. Its really great seeing that the stuff youve been working so hard on gets appreciated and that so many want more stuff from us!
14. What do you think of our site?
It looks great, its hard to find serious sites that aims for our type of music so keep up the good work!
15. Something to add?
Feel free to write a review on our album if you feel like it. All the songs are up in order on youtube, spotify, itunes and more. Thank you for featuring us!
